Some people still think skincare is about a set of products that can give you the most flawless, glassy skin in a matter of days. Skincare is being patient and giving products enough time to work, instead of tossing them after a week because you "didn't see results". Skincare is learning about possible side effects. Skincare is about having realistic skin expectations. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Learning about skincare is not just about reviews. It's more than just trial-and-error. , . . Some are meant to be fun, like masks, and should pose minimal side effects. On the other hand, actives and exfoliants should be approached with caution. There's no need to be afraid, but you have to be prepared. Don't use recklessly. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The rise of self-prescribed Vitacid (trade name for tretinoin) is what made me thought of this post. I think tretinoin is a great skincare ingredient, and since you're all adults, self-prescription is your choice.
