My favorite recently-discovered texture is this @tonymoly.us_official Egg Pore Silk Smooth Balm ($20 | gifted) Formulated with egg whites, this primer feels like the love child of the Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer and First Aid Beauty Barri-AIR Moisturizer. It’s silky, smoothing, and has a slightly whipped fluff to it ☁️ . . This creates such a good canvas for makeup, and I think it balances out my emollient sunscreen. I couldn’t find my usual Biore UV Perfect Milk and have been using the dewier Bright Milk version, which used to require setting powder to counteract. This primer takes care of that. BRAND BATTLE! ——— It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done this. But today I wanted to compare two of my favourite hyaluronic products in my routine. That being The Ordinary Hyaluronic + B5 and the Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly. ——— THE FORMULAS ▫️ The Ordinary Hyaluronic is oil-Free and also contains Vitamin B5 to help heal damaged skin. Hyaluronic is the second ingredient, so it’s pretty packed. But there’s not much else to it! ‍♂️ ▫️ Clinique Dramatically Different Jelly is first and foremost a stand-alone product. Hyaluronic is a key ingredient, but then it also has cucumber, sunflower seed and barley extract to once again, help smooth and calm. ——— THE APPLICATION AND RESULT ▫️ The Ordinary is basically a serum. You use it before a moisturiser, both morning and night. It does leave your skin feeling hydrated, but it has a slightly sticky texture. ▫️The Clinique Jelly acts as a moisturiser, but I use it as a serum. ‍♂️ It has a really unique jelly texture that melts into water. It’s such a stunning texture that I’m obsessed with. But it doesn’t give me a lot of hydration. ——— THE PRICE ▫️ The Ordinary is a steal. It’s only £5.99 which is an absolute bargain! ▫️ The Clinique Jelly is £31, which for a moisturiser isn’t bad. ——— THE WINNER And the winner is... The Ordinary! You just can’t beat the price and it’s really effective. If you’re looking for a Hyaluronic product, I would totally recommend this. ——— FINAL THOUGHTS Whilst The Ordinary has won this battle, The Clinique Jelly is still stunning.
