Have you read the most recent 'How Do I Look?' interview with the amazing Sofia, AKA @isotretinoinwiths? There's a direct link in my Stories or you can go straight to talontedlex.co.uk
I couldn't pick just one quote from Sofia, so I whittled it down to two. If you know someone who you think needs to hear these words of wisdom, tag them below
We love this picture off @padminie.gajadhar when she had her @dma_models shoot with our World Vitiligo doll

The first night in Paris on our recent trip, having fun sampling ridiculous cocktails, I got proper tipsy-giggles. You know the type that keep bubbling up inside you and make you feel a bit wobbly? And as with any occasion when I feel an emotion, my rosacea decided to crash the party
I didn't have a mirror on me, so asked @technicallyron to take a quick photo so I could see if my make up was holding up okay. He didn't want to show me this photo as he knew it would make me self conscious. And he was right: I immediately wanted to go back to the flat and redo my make up. But he refused. He told me that I looked beautiful. That I looked happy. And that he loved me... And I believed him.
It is so easy to get caught up in believing our own bullshit. I sometimes let rosacea control my feelings, but I am getting better at opening up to others. Finding perspective is hard when you keep everything locked away, and it's easy to see molehills as mountains when you've buried yourself under layers of self-criticism.
Drink the weird cocktail. Lean into the cry-laugh. Allow others to talk over your mean internal voice until you can't hear her. Live.
Real skin
Broken veins, pigmentation, large pores, congestion, dark circles, texture... it may not be what we're used to seeing online, but I'd bet this is what more of us actually see in the mirror every day.
Honesty is scary, being vulnerable is scary, showing the parts of you that you aren't in love with is scary. But how can we normalise something if we never show it? The only way to counteract the facetuned, poreless, hairless 'perfection' we see on social media is to drown it out with real photos and different faces. After all, reality is always far more interesting than perfection ♀️

“Remember it’s not the load that breaks you down it’s the way you carry it”
These teary photos was taken while having a mini meltdown, during a major psoriasis flare! I got my camera out, took a ton of selfies and went from teary to laughing and posey in seconds
I reminded myself that my psoriasis does not define me. And I should celebrate who i am and what makes me different! Everyone is imperfectly beautiful and unique.
