Some acting headshots for @catv1105 ! It was great using the limits of my studio as I had my back to the wall to get the make-up station lights in the back. To boot, acting portraits like these are fun to do since you get to experiment emotions and expressions which is difficult to do with non-professionals. Luckily, Catherine acting training was and she gave me a great wide range of emotions. More and more I look to break the monotony of the cyclorama or a canvas backdrop. I dunno about you but, if don't test new things (and fail miserably at times), progress cannot be made. Punta Cana portraits part six, this time featuring Jill.  The wind was something to contend with for this shot, and no matter what Jill did with her hair, it was everywhere luckily I was able to fix it in post production.  I included the straight out of camera (SOOC) image to show some of the other aspects that were distracting that I ended up removing or fixing using pieces from other photos in the series.  As always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions.  Enjoy! .. La Tirana 2019. Las diabladas son los bailes más populares de la Fiesta de La Tirana. Se originaron en España y en nuestro continente se fusionaron con las costumbres nativas. La diablada en Chile proviene de la Diablada Boliviana, baile grupal realizado en honor de la Virgen del Socavón en el carnaval de Oruro. En este baile se explica el origen del mal y la pugna de éste con las fuerzas del bien. Los demonios tratan de tentar a una mujer que representa a la humanidad, pero son detenidos por la intervención del arcángel San Miguel, que lidera las fuerzas del bien. El personaje principal es el demonio mayor, que representa a Luzbel. Los demonios utilizan grandes máscaras, profusamente ornamentadas, con simbologías del mal, como serpientes y dragones. Finalmente, el bien derrota al mal y los demonios comienzan a honrar a la virgen.
