#REALTALK The reality of contest prep and being “stage lean”... The photo on the right was about a year ago and one week before I hit the stage in my first figure competition. My calorie intake was so drastically low in the months leading up to the show that I didn’t even have the energy to clean the house or walk 5 blocks to the grocery store. I was doing 1 hour of cardio and 1-2 hours of weight training, 7 days a week. I had to carry around a gallon jug of water and drink around the clock and would wake up 2-3 times a night just to pee. And even though I weighed less than I ever had in my entire adult life, every day I was hyper focused on any perceived dimple or “pooch” I “thought” I could see. I was constantly criticizing how “small” my build was as a Figure competitor while at the same time wanting to lose every inch of body fat. ‍♀️ I thought I was mentally prepared for this process as I knew I had the discipline to compete...but what I didn’t factor in was the impact the intense training and dieting would have on my hormones, my body dysmorphia, my relationship with food and the gym and the overall conflicting message I felt I was putting out to other women. Clearly, my experience wasn’t the best - and I have considered over the past year about competing again because I know it can be done much differently... but I want to share my story because this is my truth and there are way too many glossed up versions projected about this sport. This photo on the left was taken about a month ago and sadly, I still struggle with body image and societal expectations HOWEVER I have my mind right most days, I know I am taking care of myself, I am eating right, I am strong, I am proud of the relationship I have with food and my passion for fitness and training has been restored I believe I needed to go through what I did in order to learn to love and respect this body unconditionally...and though it is a work in progress...it is work that I am willing to do. #transformationtuesday #bodybuilding #contestprep #mybody #mygoals #bodytransformation #mytransformation #strongerfasterbetter

Kleiner Bizepsflex und liebe Grüße aus Kroatien Training wurde heute trotz der Hitze durchgezogen, mein Tanktop konnte ich danach auswinden Der kleine Fitnessraum ist eigentlich ganz okay, es fehlen nur irgendwie die Gewichte(Einblicke in meiner Story).. Das Essen ist top, es gibt eine richtig große Auswahl(da gibt es auch Einblicke in meiner Story) Mittlerweile laufe ich schon als Mr. KRABS rum, mein Kopf hat irgendwie gedacht, dass ich keinen Sonnenbrand bekomme Hätte ich doch mal lieber auf meine Mutter und meine Freundin gehört..
