Enjoyed many bachelorette festivities this weekend and I’m so happy my city finally carries Bubbly Rose @healthade so I could make kombucha sangria! I also have a theory that drinking a kombucha before libations are had helps with no hangover (I’ve tried it 3 times with success). Unfortunately I’m back to the work grind today, but I plan to hit it hard from now to the 4th! Better late than never right?!

This is a lesson I had to learn the hard way.

I stayed comfortable- and stagnant- for waaaayyy too long. I stayed at the same job with no opportunities for growth for 3 years because I was comfortable there and I pretty much believed that I couldn’t find much better than that. .
.
Thankfully, I was finally pushed out of the nest when that school closed and forced to either face my discomfort and grow, or retreat and find yet another safe, comfortable job. .
.
I decided to face it head on and I haven’t looked back since. Since December, I’ve made many decisions where I consciously chose to put myself in uncomfortable- but exciting- positions. I passed on certain safe job opportunities, I took risks on other not so safe but thrilling projects, and I finally started investing in myself. .
.
Was it all scary and uncomfortable? Yes. .
.
Was I thinking, “what if this doesn’t work? What if I totally fail? What if I look stupid? What if I can’t do it?” Almost every day. .
.
But is my heart more full and more excited and more lit up than it’s ever been? Am I already seeing the monumental return on all of those scary decisions? Also yes.
.
The way I see it, that discomfort’s always gonna be lingering around anyway- whether you choose to stay comfortable or push yourself. So why not start choosing you? Why not start living for YOU. Why not just go for it- life really is short anyway. .

I’m still here took a little Instagram break for a few days as shingles got me feeling run down (still can’t believe I got shingles ) and I haven’t had the energy to work out like I normally do. Tonight’s dinner reminded me of one of my favorite order-in meals that I get with my family! We order chicken, collard greens, and rice from a Portuguese restaurant, and the flavors here were so similar! Air fried @hmartofficial marinated chicken thigh, sautéed kale with garlic and lemon, and brown rice quinoa medley as my Nana used to say, “bon appéttit, now you may eat!” .
