If you need me I’ll just be here, in my room, stuck in my jeans forever now. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Trying on my pre-pregnancy jeans is such a roller coaster. Like. You know there’s such a slim chance they’re going to fit, you’re not truly convinced they’re going to fit, but this part of you is just sitting there convincing yourself it’s a good idea and to go for it anyways. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ After my first pregnancy it crushed me that my body didn’t just ‘bounce back’ and I couldn’t slide right back into my clothes. I was so naive to what my body had done, had gone through and still had to go through. I also went on to eat terribly, sit around my house inactive and depressed and gain a crapton of weight. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ At the end of the day I’m comfortable in the postpartum body I’m living in. My body has gone through so much these last few years. Am I as confident as I could be when I get dressed? No. But I know that it’s a temporary state of recovery. That every day, week and month I get closer to a daily routine that leaves the girls less dependent on me and grows closer to my independence. ⁣ ⁣ Maybe one day my butt will once again be small enough for my jeans. Maybe I’ll have this junk in the trunk forever and need a new pair. My weight doesn’t define me. A number on a scale or a size of jeans doesn’t define me. My self confidence does.

Birth is Birth and a mother is a mother regardless of if it happened naturally or by C-Section! Natural deliveries are wonderful & amazing but C-Sections are too. Some women (including myself) have no choice but to deliver by surgical methods. I didn’t experience that classical moment of my waters breaking, I didn’t feel any contractions and I didn’t have to push. Have you ever had a kid that takes very SHORT catnaps? I definitely have.‍♀️For the first year of my twins’ lives, Ames was my catnapper—only sleeping 30 minutes at a time during the day. Joules, on the other hand, has always been a fabulous sleeper that loves those long, long snoozes. Luckily, we eventually got past the short nap phase with Ames and he does great now! But it made for some very exhausting days until we got there. _ For anyone that’s still fighting through it, though—with one or both of their twins—I have something that will help! 40 Weeks . . 
I am *very* proud of my first attempt at a photoshoot with the twins…. because a professional newborn photoshoot ain’t happening. Have you SEEN what they charge?! but I digress.... . April 11 was our “due date” for the twins {although March 28 was really the cut off point for them.} I never understood the “weeks” thing prior to pregnancy, but it all makes sense when you’re in it and counting the days and weeks for their development. 
I’m so proud of these two little ones who have accomplished so much before they ever were supposed to arrive! {I never thought I’d turn into this sappy mom person but I can’t help it…. I swear I’m still hilarious as ever when I’m not exhausted } . And I’m totally available for hire as a newborn photographer.... DM me for rates... #TheSarcasticBlonde
