Sesame Cauliflower with rice by @theplantifulchef Recipe:⠀ Ingredients:⠀ 1 small Cauliflower ⠀ 1/3 cup flour ⠀ 1/3 cup water ⠀ Pinch of salt and pepper ⠀ Pinch of garlic and onion powder ⠀ ⠀ Instructions:⠀ Mix and coat batter over cauliflower, place in oven at 180 degrees Celsius and spray with a little olive oil. Cook for 40 minutes or until golden.⠀ ⠀ Sauce:⠀ 1 clove of garlic finely chopped ⠀ Same size piece of ginger grated ⠀ 2 tbs brown sugar or maple syrup ⠀ 1 tbs rice wine vinegar ⠀ 1 tsp toasted sesame oil ⠀ 1/2 cup veggie stock ⠀ ⠀ Instructions: ⠀ Mix everything together add to a pan bring to a boil add in 1 tsp cornflour mixed with 1 tbs water put it into sauce turn the heat down to low until reaches desired thickness. Coat cauliflower. Enjoy!

Mid week cravings for a nice bowl of porridge Looking forward to this weekend since I’ve got another triathlon I’m doing this Sunday with @triathlonislife. We’re doing it as a team event so I’m doing the swimming part because fun fact I did swimming from when I was 3 till 17 never did I think I’d get into triathlons (sorry Tim) but it’s always good to try out something new and push yourself out of your comfort zone which i guess teaches you a bit more about yourself!

What’s your favorite grain? To be honest, I have never tried half the grains in this image, but I have got to go with Quinoa _ Some things that grains provide us with 1. Minerals such as IRON, magnesium, selenium 2. Folate and B vitamins 3. Fiber 4. Protein _ Depending on your biometrics you’ll want 85-225g each day. Vegan daily servings simplified _ This is a basic idea of the number of servings from each of the plant food groups that you would want to aim for. Of course there is more to take into consideration for optimal health than depicted in this diagram, but if you are getting in the servings shown here then you are on the right track! _ Here are a few extra things to note: 1.) Incorporate specific Omega-3 rich foods such as flaxseed and hemp seeds. 2.) Make sure you are eating the foods that will provide you with calcium. (Or drink a plant-based milk.) 3.) Oil consumption in moderation 4.) Herbs and spices are also great, not only for taste, but additional health benefits as well. 5.)
