### MY WEEKLY ALBUM If there is a band which everybody agrees this is AC⚡️DC.
The Australian band, that has been filling stadiums all over the world for over 40 years, is one of the most successful bands in rock history.
Highway to hell represents one of their most successful albums and the last one released with the singer Bon Scott, who would die the following year.
Healthy rhythm and blues bearers were among the greatest exponents of hard rock thanks to their primordial sound and wild riffs as well as rock rides able to last in time, becoming real generational hymns.
This album will become, with Back in black, the compositional and commercial apex of the band, one of the greatest examples of pure and raw rock'n roll, thanks to the Young brothers’ riding riffs and to Scott, who had a purely blues voice.

I’ve been through three heavy Beatles phases in my life, if you don’t count the one in elementary school when I first got the famous red and blue compilations. (My mom decided to blow that one up for me by telling me The Beatles were into drugs. I was shocked!) In high school John was my guy, in college I was a big George fan, and then finally as an adult I came to understand the genius/charm of Paul. So I haven’t spent a ton of time with Imagine in something like 25 years, but a quick listen yesterday morning really brought it back for me. The title song is up there with Stairway To Heaven in the “songs I’ve heard so much I don’t even hear them when they’re on” class. That’s no knock on it — it’s a lovely tune — but I can’t really see a day where I get anything new from it. Jealous Guy is great but give me the Donny Hathaway version any day. And the Paul dis, which I used to find hilarious, just makes me kind of sad now. But I really enjoyed the delicate nature of much of the material — Oh Yoko’s simple sweetness, the optimistic Oh My Love, a bit of soul searching in How — beautiful stuff, really. On the other end of the spectrum Gimme Some Truth may have been the exact perfect song for a jaded 16 year old me (man I was brutal ♂️), but it’s still a classic angry Lennon rocker that’s pretty fun if you’re not stomping around with a chip on your shoulder and making it your theme music. That concludes this episode of “Beatles Thoughts’ with your friend @lpguru, come back for more in two decades when I’ve finally had a Ringo phase?
For my final post of Mental Health Awareness Month I wanted to discuss the power of music.
Music has been and continues to be such an important part of my #selfcare and coping.

Here I have included some artists/albums that have gotten me through the difficult moments, or simply make me feel better. The top row are artists who write/sing about their pain and darkness. I enjoy listening to these artists because I can connect with their emotion. The bottom row are artists/albums that are relaxing, uplifting, and upbeat. I enjoy listening to this when I need to feel calm or I need to get up and dance! As you can see, music is a huge part of my life for many reasons.

Does music play a role in your self-care? What else do you do to take care of your #mentalhealth?
