Beware! Shameless fitness post! On this #transformationtuesday I cannot stress enough how important it is to find what works for YOU! I have been coming to this Zumba class for longer than I can remember (I’m talking 8+ years). Something about @brittany__bear ‘s energy and the dances she chooses/creates just sticks with me and keeps me coming back. I have been in this class at all sizes of my weight loss journey, and she has never once been anything but encouraging. There were times when I was too embarrassed to come because of how I looked, and how red I would get. I would wear my jacket zipped up to try and keep all the jiggles and rolls in place. But y’all - this class is hard and I would nearly want to cry by the end because of how much pain I was in. I cannot lie - having lost 95lbs has made quite the difference in my ability to perform. I work harder in this class than I do anywhere else, and I have my Fitbit stats to prove it! This class gets me off my couch. This class kicks my ass into gear. This class does it for me. If you are in the Houston area, I highly recommend you head out to golds gym and take a Zumba class with Brittany. It doesn’t hurt that she’s become one of my very bestest friends. (She also teaches bodypump so if Zumba is not your thing then find one of her pump classes!) NOW (because this post needed to be any longer ) it is so rewarding to feel my body get stronger and to not only be able to do all these dance moves, but to push myself to go harder! Dig deeper! Push more than yesterday! After class I sat in my car to watch this video and cried a little bit. I’m alive!! Made it to the other side!! Spent more time in the PACU waiting for a bed but finally settled in around 11pm last night and have been sleeping on and off since then. Feeling much better now than when I first woke up in quite a bit of pain and feeling nauseous. The nursing staff has been amazing so far and I’m looking forward to feeling better and better so I can go home!
