Бонн мне показался (да чего уж, не показался)), эдаким слегка ( да чего уж там, не слегка)) провинциальным городком.. ⠀ С нашим Оснабрюком 1 в 1. ⠀ А Бонн, на минуточку, это город, который более 40 лет был столицей Западной Германии. ⠀ Казалось бы, почему этой чести был удостоен именно Бонн? Город, который на протяжении всей своей истории был провинцией, и на это не повлиял ни факт рождения здесь Бетховена, ни факт существования здесь очень сильного Боннского университета, в котором в разное время учились Карл Маркс, Фридрих Ницше, Вильгельм II и прочие умищи. ⠀ Но, несмотря на провинциальность, в качестве столицы послевоенной Германии предпочтение было отдано именно Бонну. Почему же? ⠀ Думаю, потому что именно благодаря провинциальности разбомбили его во вторую мировую значительно меньше, чем соседние Дюссельдорф , Франкфурт и Кёльн, которые в 1949 ещё лежали в руинах и развалинах. Да и выбран Бонн был не единогласно- за него было отдано 33 голоса из 62. Но это– больше половины, поэтому Бонну хватило. ⠀ В общем, в послевоенном 1949-ом Бонн торжественно стал столицей Западной Германии- ФРГ. ⠀ И успешно оставался ей до 1990 года, то есть до объединения двух Германий в одну. И, кстати, мог бы оставаться столицей и сейчас. Today marks the 29th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, a historic event which led to the reunification of Germany. . Leonard Bernstein began his relationship with the city of Berlin in 1959 when he conducted the New York Philharmonic (@nyphilharmonic) on tour, just two years before the Wall was erected. In 1979, he conducted Mahler's Symphony No. 9 with the Berliner Philharmoniker (@berlinphil), and throughout the 1980s, Bernstein used his artistic and political influence to conduct world orchestras on both sides of the Wall, at the Philharmonie in the West and the Schauspielhaus in the East. . To celebrate the fall of the Berlin Wall, Bernstein conducted Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 at the Schauspielhaus in East Berlin on a concert televised worldwide. Bernstein declared, “I am experiencing a historical moment, incomparable with others in my long, long life.” He altered Schiller's text, changing “Ode to Joy” to “Ode to Freedom". He said, "legend or not, I feel this is a heaven-sent moment to sing ‘Freiheit’ wherever the score indicates the word ‘Freude’. If ever there was a historic time to take an academic risk in the name of human joy, this is it, and I am sure we have Beethoven’s blessing.” . The international orchestra and chorus, with members of East and West German ensembles as well as musicians from New York, London, Paris, and St. Petersburg, symbolized unification and peace.☮ .
