❤ Luna Rose is love. She is happy and safe. She loves her life. She loves the other animals, and us humans. We're her family now. And aren't we the lucky ones? Luna Rose was born at a very large farm. One of tens of thousands of farms housing trapped breeder sows in tiny pens with their newborn babies. These babies, including our Luna, are pulled at just a few weeks old to have their tails docked, needle teeth pulled and males are even neutered. All without anesthesia or pain meds. They get to stay with mom a very short time after (if they survive the filthy conditions and lack of veterinary care) and are then taken to feeder farms, where they are kept indoors in more small pens, fed until they reach slaughter weight around 6 months of age. Luna's failure to thrive saved her life. She was half the size of her siblings, and she would be culled. At her farm, non-thriving piglets are placed in a 5 gallon bucket and forgotten about until eventually they are moved to the "dead pile". Luckily, she was spotted by guardian angels, and they were able to get to her safety. She was only 2 weeks old, and was discarded like garbage. ❤ When you've got it, flaunt it! Glitter is a crowd favorite, and you can see why! She's freaking adorable! Believe it or not, Glitter was purchased as a gag gift at Christmas time, years ago.
