Let's get this #saturdaynight officially started with this fantastic #supertuscan ! Cabreo from @folonaritenute is a blend of #sangiovese & #cabernetsauvignon from the Greve in Chianti hills. It ages 16-18 months in oak barrels + 6 months in the bottle. This vintage 2013 had a beautiful ruby red colour that conquered us! At the nose aromas of baked plum, espresso, and baking spice. The robust palate opens with black fruit, chocolate and licorice alongside gripping tannins. Long & quite alcoholic finish! VINUM VITA EST. Volevo lasciarvi questa massima assieme alla foto come un post muto 😂😂😂, credo parli da sola.... ma alla fine almeno il vino ve lo voglio raccontare. Con la nostra strepitosa #cacioepepe andiamo ad abbinare un merlot in purezza tutto laziale dell'azienda @castelloditorreinpietra , Torreimpietra, Roma, che si legherà perfettamente a questo piatto, uno dei più amati del centro Italia. . . Un vino che si presenta subito a naso con i classici sentori della varietà corredato da note vanigliate evidenti. In bocca è decisamente morbido e rotondo, con un tannino moderato che però si fa notare, non di grandissima struttura ma di una giusta persistenza nel sorso, davvero di buona beva. . . La particolarità sta nell'affinamento di questo vino che passa in botte grande per almeno sei mesi per una buona parte (circa il 40%) prima di essere riassemblato con il restante merlot che attende in acciaio e lasciato affinare poi in bottiglia per qualche altro mese. . . Happy Wine Wednesday! What better day to talk about some amazing @paraduxxwine blends that I was so seriously looking at in my post on Monday 😉 . . . As I mentioned, Paraduxx only does blends and they are amazing at it! We started with a white wine blend as we walked to our table. I wish I remembered what the blend was because it was delish! . . . Our tasting consisted of 4 red blends (dont worry, this tray is for both me an my husband 😉). . . . 1) 2014 Rector Creek Blend- 63% Cab Sauv and 37% Zinfandel 2) 2015 Rector Creek Block 4- 52% Petit Verdot and 48% Zinfandel 3) 2014 Atlas Peak Red Blend- 55% Cab Sauv and 45% Sangiovese 4) 2015 Howell Mountain Red Blend- 80% Cab Sauv and 20% Syrah . . . Everyone’s favorite was the 2nd one- the blend of Petit Verdot and Zin! @marianvonblanc, our husbands, and I bought a bottle to split the next time we’re all together! . . . Which one do you think would be your favorite??

Dinner is over and to finish the meal in the right way we go for a special #tawnyport ! We are usually not big fan of fortified wines but this Port conquered us! Dow's 10 Old Tawny Port is a dry port with an average of the grapes of 10 years. During their long maturing period in oak casks, Aged Tawnies undergo subtle color changes: the deep red hue which characterizes Port's youth gradually gives way to a paler reddish amber color. This one has still a garnet colour with some amber shades, meaning that is a blend of older & youger grapes. This #port has a nutty bouquet with citrus and vanilla hint. At the palate is medium-bodied, with a fresh allure to the baked apricot, dried mango and cherry tart flavors.
