#facetofacefriday I needed a reminder of how far I’ve come. Even though I’m on a new journey in life and this body is going to go through another big changeI’m still trying to accept the fact that my body is not mine right now and I need to let go of the thought of trying to control it. I’m terrified to gain weight but it’s not for me, it’s for my baby. Right now he/she needs me to love and nourish my body no matter what it looks like or whatever I feel it looks like. I’ve been in an overweight mindset for so much of my life that it’s hard at times to accept that my belly is going to get huge again, except this time it’ll be my baby growing and not because I couldn’t control my eating habits. Creating life truly is an amazing thing, an amazing feeling and an amazing sacrifice that I wouldn’t change for anything in the world... Quick Saturday morning Carnivore grocery run. . Going to make organ meat burgers again and use 1 pound of ground lamb, 1 pound of bison & 1 pound of grass fed beef liver. . We were also out of bacon and it was on sale . . I am eating less and less these days & I’m not worried about it in the least. I think this happens naturally over time when you eat a meat based diet. #stablebloodsugar

Well that didn't end well... ‍♀️‍♀️⁣ ⁣ Here is the thing, most people coming from a Standard American Diet and going to a Vegan diet do feel great initially because they are eliminating the junk and processed foods. 3 and 4 months in I was feeling great. Past that 6 month mark my body began to become malnourished, my hair was falling out, my skin was terrible, and I was drained!! ⁣ ⁣ I was eating a Costco size organic tub of spinach a week in addition to massive amounts of quinoa, nuts/seeds, oatmeal, and tons of veggies. Learning about oxalates now from @sknorton it's no wonder I felt so miserable!! ⁣ ⁣ I yo-yo'd up and down for another 5 years until finally I found Carnovire and have finally been able to be consistent (while the healthiest of my life). ⁣ ⁣ #meatheals #exvegan #formervegan #yoyodiet

Plant based diets are being promoted a lot these days ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ However, if you look at the patterns found in nature humans have digestive machinery that digests meat with extreme efficiency ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I often hear the argument that meat is too acidic for the human gut⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ But this argument doesn’t make sense. The human stomach is naturally extremely acidic with a ph of 1.5-3.5. For the first time in my life I am spending my summer in shorts and tank tops. I spent so many summers still wearing jeans and layers because I was uncomfortable in my own skin. This picture on the left we were at the beach and I still had long pants and a 3/4 length shirt on! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ It was extremely hard for me to be overweight in the summer and that brought it's own set of physical challenges. #tmi ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ One day I was just tried of being physically miserable and was finally ready to make a change. But it wasnt that easy. It is never just one decision to get healthy. It is dozens of little decisions every day, thousands of decisions over the last year and a half to get to this point. For people with autoimmune symptoms, a stricter approach might be the way to go. But really, there is no "right" or "wrong" way to do it. Even carnivorous animals in the wild eat plants on occasion.⁠ ⁠ More meat + less (no) plants. BOOM! ⁠ ⁠ Now I am not someone who thinks you need to label how you eat, but I do think it can be helpful for anyone new to this lifestyle to know it's not all or nothing. My grandmother has Type 2 diabetes. My mother had Type 2 diabetes. I was prediabetic and on my way to Type 2 diabetes younger than both of them. It terrifies me that my daughter was going to grow up with the same food choices I was making and just make the excuse that her inevitable Type 2 diabetes "just runs in my family." ⁣ ⁣ My mom reversed her diabetes and got off all her meds with a Keto diet and fasting. She has now been carnivore for the last several months to help with her Hashimoto's and Arthritis. I reversed my high A1C and insulin resistance with a Carnivore Diet and Fasting. What are we calling "genetic" that is actually just us passing down poor eating habits and can be reversed by a proper diet? ⁣ ⁣ I was raised by amazing women that were all doing the best they knew how! But now that we know better our family is working hard to break that cycle. #4generationsofwomen

By our vacation last summer we had both lost 50 pounds already and were on our way!! By this year we had lost over 120 total EACH.
