A little late on this #selflovesunday post but I wanted to share having just wrapped up an incredible journey in Costa Rica.
.
This training demanded presence in all aspects this past week. With little to no time spent on any kind of social media.
.
It was a whirlwind on vulnerability, connection, tears, laughter and self reflection.
.
To be honest...I could have stayed there forever. It was worth every ounce of struggle I’ve faced over the last 10 years watching these ladies grow and transform.
.
At the end, some of the trainees asked me, “Aren’t you exhausted from having to lead this whole week?”
.
And I sat thinking about it realizing that not one moment during that week had I ever wished I was doing anything else.
.
It was me pursing my passion and purpose...my destiny as a teacher and leader. I felt invigorated and fulfilled.
.
Needless to say, upon returning there were some significant losses experienced from stolen items on the journey back.
.
But in a situation where I normally would have found anger for the loss, I’ve allowed myself to grieve, accept, and count my blessings.
.
Returning to the Yamas and Niyamas we had discussed during training. And getting clear on what truly matters in life.
.
And knew I would accept that loss a million times over for the opportunity to lead again.

The limits of your mind define the boundaries of your world.
Just had a baby? You're probably experiencing a mix of emotions right now: joy that your little one has arrived, and maybe even a bit of sadness, anger or irritability— not to mention the crushing fatigue and the burgeoning concern about the state of your post-pregnancy body.
•Although it may seem like you couldn't possibly have the time, starting a regular yoga practice can help. The gentle stretching and strengthening, deep breathing and "me" time a yoga session provides can help reduce stress, strengthen your body and mind and increase your energy level — all of which will boost your self-confidence and make you a happier mom. By taking up yoga after your pregnancy, here are seven things you'll do for your body and mind.
1.Reduce Stress and Tension
—Taking the time to stretch your body, sit quietly, practice deep breathing and even meditate can do wonders to help
2.Increase Your Energy Level
—While it may seem contradictory when you're feeling fatigued, including more light-to-moderate activity into your day can help pep you up and make your brain feel sharper and more alert
3.Fend off Postpartum Depression
—Studies have shown that in addition to seeking professional help, practicing yoga can also reduce the symptoms of postpartum depression
4.Stabilize Your Core
—Your core — the area between your pelvic floor and the top of your ribs — goes through dramatic changes during pregnancy and childbirth. It's common to develop imbalances and muscular trauma that can affect healthy movement and function of your entire body
5.Strengthen Your Body
—You've allowed some time after birth to let your body rest — now it's time to rebuild your strength and muscle tone.
6.Put Yourself First
—"It can be so easy to forget yourself and put others first all the time. This habit will make you sick," — "Also, you cannot feed others adequately if you're not feeding yourself, too."
7.Meet Other New Moms
—A postnatal yoga class is a room full of women just like you, experiencing the same joys and worries. #yogamommy #postnatalyoga •Some excerpts on this post were taken from @livestrong
