You’re more than just a mum. Today I had a lovely chat with my closest friends; I was telling them how annoyed I was getting at not being able to ditch the biscuits and lose some weight. My friend asked me “what do you like to do? Something for you to stop you thinking about biscuits?” I couldn’t answer her, I don’t know what I like to do anymore. I honestly can’t remember a single thing I used to enjoy before the children became my life. It feels like an endless routine of taking care of the girls and taking care of the house with maybe an hour for TV in the evening but watching one episode of TV isn’t a valid answer to “what do you like to do?” I hear the phrase, more than just a mum, a lot and I know that I am more, I used to do things, I used to go places, I used to see people. That all feels like a distant memory that I can’t quite recall into focus. I truly feel like I’ve lost myself to motherhood and don’t get me wrong, I adore being a mother, these two little ladies have completed me and given me purpose but where did I go in all of this? If you see the old me around, ask her to drop in for a catch up won’t you?

Some people are like clouds. When they disappear, it’s a beautiful day. I brought Aidan to the Pediatrician for his 4 month check up this morning. Some guy with his 15 month old son walks up to me & starts up a conversation. He asks me how old Aidan is. I told him 4 months... and guess what he asks me just because his son is way tinier? “Oh. Wow. Um. He’s huge. Is he well?” Of course he’s fucking well. He’s just a big baby . Some people can be incredibly rude. In any event, Aidan officially hit 100th percentile for height LOL . 28 inches long at 4 months old. I’m a proud momma . Hope y’all have a beautiful Saturday!

* F O U R M O N T H S * What was my life even like before this boy? He’s such a happy little guy as long as mommy is in eyesight I love him so much I think my heart may actually explode. He recently found his tongue and has started to giggle!!! (My favorite) He still hates the car and we’re working on a bottle but not totally concerned about it.
