I’ve written this post in my head so many times over the past 7 years and dreamed of the day I could finally post it... but suddenly I have no words. All I can say now is, IT WORKED! Our IVF worked and we are ARE PREGNANT! There are no other words that seem big enough to explain how we are feeling! Other than THANK YOU. Thank you to our amazing doctor, Dr. Lannon, at Boston IVF who helped us make this healthy baby. Thank you to our family and friends who have been with us through all the tears and heartbreak over the past 7 years and who have been with us on this journey to share our extreme happiness! Thank you to ALL of you who have prayed with us and for us, and sent so much love and support that we have felt so deeply. It has helped us so much while we have gone through the hardest yet most joyous time in our lives. I truly believe this was successful because of that support. After countless appointments, needles and pills, 7 long years and 2 heartbreaking losses... we finally have ONE (yes one☺️) healthy, growing baby! And yes, we know what our sweet little baby is! We had our Dr. chose which embryo to put in and he told us the gender at our last appointment! Even though we are bursting to tell everyone, we are keeping it a secret for just a little while longer until my sister comes home and we can tell our whole family together in person! According to Transfer date I’m 6w6d, baby is measuring 6w5d so RE is officially putting us at 6w5d... We got a DVD of our sonogram today instead of printed pics (not sure why but I’ll take it) just means I get to watch baby Simmons flickering heart over and over again❤️ . We have one more ultrasound appt with our RE at 8w2d then we will be released. This pregnancy has been smooth and problem free thus far I just prayer that it continues to stay that way . P.S. Our fertilization report is in! Of our 9 eggs, 8 were inseminated via ICSI and 6 successfully fertilized. That is double what we had at this stage during our first cycle. God is so good! And we feel very blessed to have made it this far. . Now for some real talk. What we didn’t expect directly following this call was a feeling of immense sadness. Seth and I sat together feeling overwhelmed by this unexpected emotion for awhile. When we finally found the right words, we talked about how we felt punched in the gut. We thought this moment would be a moment of pure joy because we’ve come so far. We didn’t anticipate such complex emotions. . We talked through how we felt and why we might feel that way. What we realized was that these feelings are coming from a place of fear. We’ve successfully reached this point before only to have our hearts shattered a few days later. I wish we could put the past in the past but that’s just not how grief works. It can hit you out of nowhere with the smallest of triggers. We didn’t realize that phone call would be so triggering for us. But it was, and we had to allow ourselves to feel what we felt in order to get to the other side. . The truth is we don’t know how our update on Saturday, June 8 will go. But we aren’t letting fear lead us over the next few days because fear is a liar! We’re going to continue putting our trust in our good, good Father above. We know He will never leave us or forsake us. We’ve done our part, and the rest is up to Him. . The countdown is on!! Three-ish weeks until our frozen embryo transfer!! . . We only have ☝ so I’m praying it sticks and we will be pregnant going into July! ❤️ . . On another note, I had to take lovenox shots for my entire pregnancy with Brayden and for the 14 weeks we were pregnant with our second. I did not give myself a single shot! I was TERRIFIED! . . I tried once and sat in the bathroom for 30 min and I just couldn’t do it. I relied on my husband, my mom, and my sister to give them to me. . . Fast forward to now (after 4 years of infertility) and I am a pro at giving myself shots! I will admit, I’m a little (LOT) nervous to give myself the PIO shots! . .
