Well, this may be my last pregnancy picture.... ever?! Baby boy is coming this weekend and I’m beyond excited, terrified, anxious, and pretty much everything in between!⁣ ⁣ It’s been three months since we learned that I had #vasaprevia - a dangerous and potentially fatal blood vessel that hovers over my cervix - and today we received the news that it's no longer safe for him to continue to grow inside of me. The vessel is 1cm from my cervix so he’ll be making an early entrance into the world at 34 weeks. ⁣ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣ I’m scared of the unknowns that lie ahead but I’ve decided to put that fear aside and tackle this with a “let’s do this” mentality. With that said, if you’re a religious person, please pray for us this weekend. If you’re not, please send all the positive vibes and happy thoughts that he comes out safely and as healthy as can be expected at this point. (Neither can hurt, right) This has been one hell of a journey getting to this point but one thing is for sure - we can’t wait to meet our baby boy!

Our sweet boy Stone Hollis Stewart arrived March 28, 2019 at 2:08 pm, 4lbs 3 oz. After 36 hours of trying for labor and at 36 weeks old, he was delivered C-section! He is the cutest little peanut and has filled our hearts with such an unbelievable amount of love already. He has some growing and catching up to do and won’t be coming home for awhile..but is doing awesome! The past 7 days have been filled with so many unexpected things. We didn’t know we would be having a baby so soon, didn’t know what to expect, didn’t know really anything except that a baby was coming, ready or not. What I do know now...we have the most tremendous support and love from our family and friends, that labor and delivery nurses (including via text from my cousin in Denver) are the hardest working people I know, and that the NICU is filled with the most love I have ever felt. Luke and I are grateful for the journey we started one year ago, for today and for the next thousands of tomorrows.

“After 4 failed IUI’s, I heard my doctor say IVF and my heart instantly sank to the floor. No one pictures their hopes and dreams for a family riding on what seems like hundreds of medications, injections, hormones and procedures. But everything I heard about IVF made it seem out to be this instant solution. ‘Oh yea you just go in and get the eggs and then you have all these chances to create a family.’ Our experience was not that easy. After what seemed like an eternity of injections, we were finally headed into our egg retrieval feeling good. In the end, IVF was the only way we would find out that I had poor egg quality and because of this, we only ended up with 1 embryo. One chance to start our family. We then prepped for our first FET (frozen embryo transfer) with high hopes. 10 days later, I went in for blood work to see if I was pregnant and we waited for the call. The doctor called and said that she had bad news…and I dropped the phone. It was negative. It didn’t work. Tears streamed down my face today even typing about that day. I was shattered. And it was the darkest day I have ever experienced. After the initial shock wore off, we knew what we had to do. Keep going. And after 2 more rounds (so 3 rounds of IVF total!) of egg retrievals, we finally had 4 more embryos. If there was one word to get me through this whole process, it was the word HOPE. It’s the thing I held onto. The thing that got us through. And this photo is a symbol of that hope becoming a reality. All my IVF warriors raise your hands in the comments below. Ya’ll are asking for a bump shot and every time I go to take one, I’m already in my pjs, hair is out of a messy bun and I’m toast for the night! My mom snapped this yesterday. We are 2 days shy of 30 weeks Where in the world did time go? Elliana continues to move around a ton. One year ago today, we transferred our 6 day frozen embryo that turned into this beautiful, sweet baby girl that has completely stolen our hearts forever.
