We have been through a lot when it comes to our infertility/IVF journey. But what is crazy is we have only technically been through one IVF (now a on our 2nd). It doesn’t matter how long or short your journey is (infertility, financial, relational...whatever it is)...we can all have compassion for other people’s journey. You know what this calendar means! ⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ We went into today’s appointment thinking we were just doing an ultrasound and blood test, but we left with our transfer calendar and a plan! We start estrogen and dexamethasone tonight and if our first ultrasound goes well, we will start progesterone in two weeks and transfer around the 16th! ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ I can’t believe we are here again. It’s scary and exciting. We both had a good cry in the elevator when we left the appointment. We knew we were gearing up for a transfer, and we are so ready, but we were NOT mentally prepared for them to slap a calendar on the desk today!⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Regardless, we are here and we are blessed! For anyone who needs this today, hold your head up and feel proud. ✨ Infertility is a truly dark, dreadful place. It can be easy for our minds to get the best of us and thrust us even deeper into darkness. How can it not? We have faced month after month, and year after year of disappointment, uncertainty, grief, and sometimes loss. We fight to maintain optimism and hope when we might not have much reason to be. We have our bad days, but we rise up and fight again. We change course and adapt to our circumstances. ✨ I am officially 2dp5dt, and while I feel excited and hopeful, I can't help that part of me expects a negative outcome. This is self-preservation; I have trained myself to avoid devastation by bracing myself for the impact. ✨ But then there's the other part of me. The part that feels our little embryo getting cozy for the long haul. That is already telling our little munchkin how much I love them and how badly I want to meet them. That wonders if we have a boy or girl in there (I could care less by the way!). That feels like it is finally time for the coin to flip in our favor. ✨ While there is still hope, I don't want to sit in the darkness. And one week today, I will get to find out for sure.

Just recently had a birthday & my mom gifted me this sweet little wooden sign.✨ Through this journey I’ve found that small reminders such as this- words that I see every day whether they are written on my mirror, a sticky note, a necklace, they help. Although I already know these things in my heart, the subtle push to reset my mind on what is true helps keep me going. I know there is someone out there today who needs that gentle reminder as well. Stop letting fear lie to you, God’s got this.

IVF does not define me or my baby, but it is part of our story. Our story of longing for a child, waiting, praying, doctors appointments, second opinions, surgeries and medications... lots of timed medications. • Infertility has been the most difficult and isolating road my husband and I have ever walked. I am immensely thankful for this community, so we no longer had to suffer in silence. Within our community, we’ve made friends, cheered each other on, shared crucial knowledge and felt supported. To all the women still in the wait: know that you are incredibly strong and brave.
