In order to fight against the urban heat-island phenomenon by increasing in the same time the density of the city in the long-term, this study presents 8 prototypes of mixed towers. These towers repatriate the nature in the heart of the city and integrate from their design the rules of bioclimatism and the renewable and recyclable energies in short loop through innovative systems. I (Sadie) spent the morning reading these inspiring stories of small farming families. We talk a lot on FPF of having a reciprocal relationship with land or growing food in a way that regenerates the soil that nourishes us. The spoils of industrial agriculture are all around us and we need books like this to remind us that farming can be a form of activism. Do you know what ecological succession is? Ecological succession (or natural succession) is the gradual process of changes in the structure and composition of the group of plant species present in a given area, starting from the placenta or colonizing community and going to the community climax or final. Together with stratification (a theme I will explain later), we must respect succession in order for our system to succeed, of course, always based on the goals and focuses of each design. Agroforest is not about to guess what will happen, there is so much science and study behind everything we do, so it is fundamental to seek specialized guidance when one intends to enter this universe. Conceito fundamental para a compreensão das práticas agroflorestais, a sucessão ecológica (ou sucessão natural) é o processo gradual de mudanças da estrutura e composição do grupo de espécies vegetais presentes em uma dada área, partindo desde a comunidade placenta ou colonizadora e indo até a comunidade clímax ou final. Juntamente com a estratificação (tema que explicarei em outro momento), devemos respeitar a sucessão para que nosso sistema tenha sucesso, isso claro, sempre baseando-se no objetivos e focos de cada design. Agrofloresta não é achismo, existe muita ciência e estudo por trás de tudo que fazemos, por isso é fundamental buscar orientação especializada quando se pretende entrar nesse universo.
