The past couple of weeks have been crazy. Primary Series Immersion, Second Series Immersion, Online Interactive Course starting, mom and dad coming to visit … it feels like everything is happening at once.

Even when things are busy I carve out time for my practice everyday. I call this maintenance mode. I’m not expecting these to be stellar practices. They are normally short and are meant to support me in my teaching. These practices help me reconnect with my breath, give me information to teach from, and give me headspace for my day. These maintenance mode practices set me up to do strong practices when I am ready. As a teacher I know that the most valuable information I can share is based in my experience with the practice - and maintenance mode counts for that.

This busy time will pass, everything does. As I teach about impermanence I recognize it in my own life. All our moments are fleeting and precious and will be over before you know it - so best to appreciate all the little moments.
Ever tried supta vajrasana by yourself? If you’re lucky enough to practice with a teacher you won’t have to. But if you practice alone, try this. Our teacher jen @jrene01 Explains how.
.
Step 1: bind lotus. Use strap as needed.
.
Step 2: place bolster, block, or something behind sacrum for support. Bend back slowly and engage core to come up. Like a big sit up.
.
Step 3: lower support if appropriate. Lively chest and lift out of pelvis. Try to ground legs.
.
PS - all these tips are helpful even with a partner.
