I loved that @adventuresofmssmith_ shared her top tips that she’s learned through teaching and wanted to join the party! I just wrapped up my fourth year of teaching and want to share the four tips/lessons I think all teachers should know! ⁣ ⁣ 1. RELATIONSHIPS MATTER MOST! Although I’m sure it is possible for students to learn from those that they don’t like, it’s much more effective learning when you have a good relationship with your students! I love on my babies hard and give them the love and respect that I expect in return! My motto is stern but FUN! Invest in relationships before academics and behaviors and the rest will naturally fall into place!⁣ 2. YOU ARE ONLY HUMAN! This is a lesson I have had to learn the hard way! Burnout is real and perfection is not. As teachers, we want carry the heavy responsibility of influencing little ones for possibly the remainder of their lives! That’s not something we take lightly, but it also can not be something that bogs us down! Do your best, learn from your mistakes, and know that the kids are alright. ⁣ 3. YOUR PASSION MAY NOT BE EVERYONE’S PASSION! This is one that I learned most recently! Not all teachers share the same passion as you. Some teachers are “squirrels”. When in situations such as this (all of us have them!), keep your passion first and surround yourself with likeminded people that challenge you and help you grow!⁣ 4. TEACH IN A WAY THAT EXCITES Y O U ! When you’re excited about what you teach, your excitement will transfer to your students, making them excited to learn. Alternatively, when you are not excited about what you’re teaching, your students know and will not be as motivated to learn! Every teacher is different! Find the style that works for you and thrive! Do what serves your passion and excites you! All involved will benefit! ⁣ ⁣ Those are my top 4 tips after four years!
