Chemo round 1 I was having some pain in my arm due to the drugs being so cold in my vein ( the drugs come out the freezer) but my haematology nurse came on the ward to see me and got me a heat pack. Don’t feel sick but I feel a bit spaced out and I was a bit wobbly walking to the toilet. Got an hour left of this infusion then I’ll be almost done #hodgkinslymphoma #bloodcancer #chemotherapy #cancerchicks #mummysstar #macmillancancersupport

June 24, 2019- Day 0. #StemCell Transplant Day. My “re-birthday”. My second chance at life. Been waiting and praying for this day for months. Let’s hope my body fights this fucking cancer off for good and doesn’t come back. Need my little cells to work their magic. Let this shit storm begin (literally and figuratively) #FuckCancer
What I’ll be doing every day for the next couple of weeks! Although my cancer is gone, the cure for Hodgkins is the combination of ABVD chemotherapy and the radiation therapy together to (hopefully) keep the cells from coming back Finding it hard to keep still for 15 minutes whilst having a mask over my face that keeps me immobile, but they do play me some pretty good music So close to the finish line #hodgkinslymphoma #bloodcancer #awareness

Fun fact: did you know that Lymphoma is a cancer of the blood? I sure didn’t!
Some more facts:
♦️Blood cancers are the fourth most common cancer diagnosed in Canada;
♦️Every 35 seconds, someone in the world is diagnosed with a blood cancer;
♦️There are no effective screening tests for early detection of blood cancers... HOWEVER... there are several warning signs;
♦️The three main blood cancers are Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma;
This is why it is so important to know yourself and know your body!
