What is it like to not feel tired all the time? I honestly don’t know. I know a lot of my fatigue is hormonal and I’ve been working with my naturopath to figure it out. I also know that my sleeping patterns are horrendous (hello night shifts ). I want to give this prep 110% but I know that unless I improve the quality and quantity of my sleep, I’ll end up hitting a wall. Actually, I already did. Yesterday was a STRUGGLE and I ended up skipping my workout and upping my macros because I was absolutely spent. So one of my goals for July will be to improve my sleep. Well fam this weekend was a SUCCESS!! Even with some minor setbacks I was able to take home a second place victory in the men’s heavyweight bodybuilding division and a 5th place medal in men’s physique!! Not to bad for my very first show!! I’ve now qualified for the Van Pro show next weekend and will be continuing on to compete again in one week!! I would like to take a minute to talk to you about setbacks and my feelings on when things don’t go exactly as planned. So I was originally supposed to compete in men’s classic Physique division this weekend which I though I had the height and weight for my specific class. Turns out I’m 5’8” and 7/8 so unfortunately based on my height I needed to make 190lbs if I was going to enter a classic physique division and I weighed in at 192.5lbs ‍♂️ I was given half an hour to make weight and was only able to cut 1.5lbs in the time given But instead of just throwing in the towel and not competing at all because I was pissed off I decided to enter two divisions instead!! We tweaked my classic physique routine for bodybuilding and spent half hour learning the physique poses lol The moral of the story is unexpected things happen but you know what you just gotta take the hand you’re dealt and make the very best of it because it’s all you can do!! Winners never quit and quitters never win!! Prep. Is. Hard. • Mentally, emotionally, and physically. • One of the most challenging things this prep for me has been trying to find the time for everything in my life.
