My baby returned home from being at camp for the week. I missed her so much. She was so scared when I dropped her off, when I picked her up she couldn’t wait to tell me she wanted to go back! Flashback 20 years ago attending the same college camp feeling the same exact way. Evolution is amazing

Producing and raising children with you has been one of the biggest accomplishments of my life. Observing the way you love them is the closest thing to heaven. Thank you for choosing me, for choosing us everyday. People always question your sanity, or how you will survive raising these beautiful daughters of ours. I tell them your karma is good, you place nothing but compassion on this green earth. You will get it back ten fold through them

Go TEACHERS. From @facebook user Tara Mitchell Holman: “Wow. This teacher has her students write their name on back of a sticky note and place it on the chart each Monday. She then talks privately throughout the week with each child about where they placed the sticky note and if they need to talk. A weekly check in on her students. ❤️❤️Maybe we could pass this along to teachers.” #teachersofinstagram #bethechange #teacherlife
I've not been quiet about my worries that my struggles with mental health will be passed on to my babies. You may have seen the post I wrote, when I was crushed that Kallen was starting to repeat some of my negative self talk. It's a scary world to navigate, and that's why I am partnering with @nationwidekids for their #OnOurSleeves campaign. You can read more here about the campaign here: http://bit.ly/2FTHkgy
Conversations are already being had in our house about anxiety and healthy ways we can cope with hard feelings. I am very open with them when u am having overwhelming moments and why I take a second to do grounding, meditation or repeat affirmations. Because the truth of it is, that kids don't always wear their feelings on their sleeves, they may not know how to express anxious or depressed thoughts, they may feel scared or not heard. Please take a minute to visit the link in my bio for the ways you can start the conversation with your kids. We can break the stigma ⚓

I talk about my mental health a lot, I want to normalise how we feel as human beings and I want to keep talking.
It is important and it is important to show our kids that it is normal to talk about our emotions and how we feel.
I would like to think that as they grow older my children will talk to me about anything, but even if they won’t at least they will feel like it is normal to talk to someone.
