⭐️SHAPE & SHADE⭐️ Today I thought we’d do an activity that didn’t involve the sensory table for a focus, and then have unstructured play the rest of the day! She’s@doing this activity while breakfast cooks The idea is to find the shape and the shade that match what is stuck on the clothespins! It’s such a simple setup! Paint chips from the hardware store, a few hole punchers, clothespins, and a glue gun! I first saw this activity at @where_learning_meets_play and decided to add my own spin to it by incorporating the different shapes! Brother is having a morning (probably because sister is getting the attention for the moment), so if I post some videos (while holding the baby) they may have no sound This is an awesome problem solving and fine motor activity!! Animal sorting-do they live on land or water?! I set up this activity mainly for Theo because he’s getting more interested in sorting activities. But he ignored it completely until the end when he came to play with the water and washing the sand off the animals. Arlo on the other hand had a ball with the sorting! I had water in one side of the Flisat table and sand and grass in the other side. I put an assortment of land and sea animals in a crate on the floor for the boys to sort. Unintentionally making this an active play experience as they had to bend down and grab an animal then place it in the correct tub. I read about active play on Zara’s post and stories yesterday and it made total sense to me, I often unintentionally make our play active because the boys are busy little beings that love to move!
