Sometimes getting to church is hard. The idea of spending a Sunday morning at home on the couch in our pajamas is tempting-- especially when it has been a long week. The work it would take to get ourselves and others ready to go and out the door is maybe more energy than we have at the moment. Perhaps we feel like going to church is a waste of time when there is so much catching up to do at home: clothes to wash or the kitchen needs a deep clean. • Is church worth the effort and the time? Always. Worshipping with fellow believers is refreshing. There is strength that comes from being surrounded by the body of Christ. At church we can receive prayer, encouragement, and comfort in knowing that we are not alone. Church is a place we can find rest and feel at home. It’s a fixed fight. I want you to picture your time of prayer, wether by yourself or in corporate prayer, as stepping into a boxing ring. The enemy has an agenda and you go in the ring to fight. Timothy was charged to fight the good fight of faith. Not to try to just keep his faith, the good fight of faith is not a Christian struggling to continue to believe in God. No. It’s waging war on the enemy according to the prophetic words over your life. Waging war according to the promises of God. Living a life of faith and with a clear conscience so your faith doesn’t get shipwrecked. But now picture as you step into that ring, the fight is fixed. The win is in your pocket. Your coach in your corner has already paid the price for you to win. There is still a way you can lose though. Only one way. If you don’t get in that ring and fight then you forfeit the victory. If you don’t PRAY then you forfeit every victory Jesus paid for. You have to get in that ring and fight! You may take a punch or two but the fight is fixed so he can’t take you out! I want you to look at your life. Are you waging war over what God has said to you? Over His promises? Are you wondering why things aren’t going the way they are supposed to? Have you stepped in the ring to claim your victory? Even if you’re in the 12th round, the win is in your pocket! Don’t give up! Keep waging war according to His word! Jesus is in your corner! Here’s another version of “hello May”. I can’t remember who said it but when I first started I read a big account say “when the calligraphy part doesn’t come out quite right just letter the crap out of it!” . I’ll never forget that. That M just kept getting bigger and sometimes you just go with it instead of starting over . I just want to say thank you for the outpouring of prayer for my dad. I’m going to post in a bit about what we are pretty sure is the whole reason he has come to this point! “When Jesus had tasted it, He said, ‘It is finished.’ Then He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.” John 19:30 This verse always makes me emotional. Every single time I read it. I’m sure you’ve read this scripture, probably multiple times, but today stop for a minute and think about it. Really think about it. Jesus came here to pay a very costly price for us. He was mocked, and beaten, and then killed and He deserved none of it. And in this moment, with His death, He paid the price for every one of our sins. No matter how great of a sin. Every wrong we’ve ever done is forgiven because of His ultimate sacrifice. So today, on Good Friday, read this verse again and accept the truth that Jesus died to give forgiveness of all the sins of those who accept Him. Don’t listen to the lie that your sins are too great or too many to be loved by our Savior.
