♥️♥️♥️♥️ I had this vision for a photoshoot of what @constantly_varied_gear represents.  Athletes of all different sizes, ages, and places in their fitness journey. Positive women who show up every day trying to be a better version of themselves and lift each other up. Before this shoot many of these ladies didn't know each other. I know them from different gyms or places I visit through fitness. That didn't matter they showed up with everything they always bring. Positivity and support for each other. Never sizing each other up because you are... "The girl who roots for the other girl, tells a stranger that her outfit looks amazing, and encourages other women to believe in themselves." You always fix another woman's crown without ever letting the world know it was crooked. I am so goddamn lucky to be surrounded by these beautiful strong woman and have them represent @constantly_varied_gear.  That is what we are all about and women like you will change the world. Thank you♥️

For anyone who might need to hear this today: Your toughest days are your best days, because they have the capability of pushing you out of your comfort zone and causing change - mentally as well as physically. After a hiatus, She’s back! I try to apply functional movement patterns in any way possible to assist in mums quality of life. Although sometimes she gets frustrated with me (and I equally get as frustrated with her) it’s only because she wants to get it, I want her to get it and believe she can. (Training family requires a whole new level of patience) . In the end she pushed me away and wanted to give it a crack herself. It gives me so much satisfaction that she is building more confidence within herself and is proud. In general as a coach I have asked myself the question before, have I made this too hard for them? I have realised though sometimes they may not Be quite up to the variation of the movement I had in mind.... but we can always scale it back rather then cruising through and it being comfortable- regardless of the “level” someone is at. It can involve lots of trial and error and trying to work out where that fine line of uncomfortable and comfortable is. I’ve decided we’re calling this variation an “Oklahoma Baby-Maker” (give them a try, it will make sense). This is a hybrid exercise of the Ukrainian DL & chair DL exercises. The set-up should resemble a wide-stance box squat. Elevated surfaces allow the weight to travel to a deficit (modify based on your mobility). Maintain a flat back as long as possible, then allow for a slight rounding at the bottom; always maintaining “knees-out” external hip rotation. Return to an upright position by first posturing to a neutral spine then driving the feet outwardly as if to extend the hip. This a general exercise designed to target the muscles that insert near the groin and lumbar vertebrae.
