People don’t know they may be scaring us, triggering us, hurting us, or draining us. Others don’t experience the world the way we do. It can make for a very isolating and tough situation. Even some doctors and therapists don’t understand how uniquely long term trauma can affect us! With the way life is after abuse, we fight a very private battle. All too often, mental health professionals are quick to slap a diagnosis on a person and ignore the underlying untreated TRAUMA. Traumatic grief, cptsd, ptsd, and many other manifestations of trauma are INJURIES that can heal. Why differentiate if there’s no shame in having a mental illness? As an adult, I can accept the beauty in others, and give all I can to others without hesitation. But I get physically ill when someone wants to do something for me. . : •|• : My childhood, like unfortunately too many others, placed me in a constant state of fight or flight. I fought back as a child, and adult, against the various types of abuse, but I also acknowledge the deep truths in shadow work all the time. What got through the little cracks in my warrior-spirit armour. : •|• : I did stop loving certain aspects of myself which made it hard at times to receive acts of kindness or love. Ironically, I have no issues with my worth with respect to my skills and job, spirituality or calling as a healer, or even as a human being who has much to offer. I do see that worth. It’s about what I can give. This comes from having an external support structure through teachers and extended family (a blessings as many who suffered childhood abuse did not have this). But receiving... love.... kindness. It would break me. . : •|• : Over the years of childhood, these traumatic energies manifested into the chronic illnesses I live with today. These are also the reasons I stress that it’s about healing mind body and spirit. Why energy healing, Reiki and a deep spiritual connection with my plant spirit allies go into creating all offerings for the store with Holistic healing as the goal. Mind & Spirit into Body.
