Bumble went to her first medical doctor's appointment! The office had never experienced an SD before, but were fine and accommodating. Bumble was good; at one point she got antsy and she did sniff a nurse's foot, but other than that she was chill and good. (Also I promise she's not sad while working, no matter how disgruntled she looks in that second picture!) • • I also finally got a video of some of our task-work! She just learned fainting response last night and my acting distressed was not the most convincing in this video, but it's still ok! (Also, whoops, looks like it got cut off at the end. I'll have to show all of it in highlights) • • I'm very proud of my girl. Interestingly, the doctors office was not something that she found challenging. She's great at focusing around kids (with some extra tail wagging) and doesn't mind new things like elevators or machines. So even though we're still taking it slower with PA right now, this was a good opportunity for her to practice in an environment that's similar to stuff she's already good at. Plus, I have a very severe medical phobia and even just her presence was extremely helpful with that, not to mention her tasks. • • My appointment was about my recent joint pain and stuff, and we got referred to a rheumatologist. I don't know when that will be, but at least it's on the right track to figuring out what's wrong. • • Because of the pain and fatigue and increased dizziness, I've been unable to be quite as active as I'd like to be with BB, so we've increased our in home training sessions where I can sit down and we've started rear end awareness for real! Stepping back in our training has been good for us! Bumble has reached that special puppy age where she acts like some unholy union of toddler and teenager, and it's been rough. She's stubborn and loves to use her voice right now, so we've taken a step back and stuck to pet friendly places and done lots of in-home training, and developed a much more structured, scheduled day and night. • • It's proven helpful! On Sunday, we went to our first training class with other dogs, and it was a big challenge, but super rewarding. Bumble loves to train and work, but she also loves other dogs to the point of throwing noisy tantrums at times when she doesn't get to say hi. It's by far her biggest problem and it was rewarding to see her struggle but choose to focus and listen instead of bark and play. We've also gone to petco just on our own a few times this week and she continues to improve. Today she was able to refocus and walk with me even when a dog came up to us on a flexi leash, which is a huge accomplishment! Just a week ago she would've thrown a fit when I walked away with her. • • We also went to the (dog friendly) farmers' market and she was good starting halfway through when she got tired. This first picture is of free rpg day at the comic book store (also dog friendly) and she was great. • • Even though we haven't been able to do "real" PA (besides 1 quick + successful mall trip), BBB has done well and progressed thoroughly in just a few days. Nugget has gone with me to the dentist a few times already (with my mom holding her leash), but this time I finally felt ready to have her lay on me and she did an absolutely perfect job. I felt calmer almost instantly. This is what we do this for! ❤️ Nugget is al een paar keer mee geweest naar de tandarts (met mijn moeder die haar vasthield), maar deze keer voelde ik me eindelijk zover om haar op me te laten liggen en ze deed het perfect. Ik voelde me vrijwel meteen rustiger worden. Dit is waarom we dit doen! ❤️

Our @poodle_paws_gear harness came in!! It’s absolutely gorgeous, I can’t wait to take him on outings with it!! Pictures really don’t do it justice The fleece is incredibly soft, the harness itself is light but durable, and it matches the pull strap (also poodle_paws_gear) we had purchased a while back!! It’s easy to adjust and the colors are exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend this shop, the owner is incredibly sweet and was super flexible with our fleece choices! The process was easy and non-stressful. The time it took to receive our order was great as well, not as long as other shops, so if you need a new harness fairly quickly, this shop can deliver!
