They’re the real MVPs! . As the first day of school creeps closer and closer I can’t help but get a little anxious thinking of all the preparations and procedures I’ll have to get into order even down to the most minute detail. Sharpening pencils on the first day is THE WORST- especially when there are about 8 billion more important things to worry about that day. . I prevent this precious time waster by preparing 3 pencils per student prior to the first day and giving them to the students as they turn in supplies to me. Even so, students that show up with sharpened pencils make my teacher heart go pitter patter! (Less sharpening for me later! Yessss!) . What other simple but easily forgettable tasks, chores, or preparations do you think are important before the first day?

How are you feeling about being midway through summer? . . . Hint: take specific photos of your classroom on the last week of school so you can refer to them when you’re setting up again. F I R S T • D A Y • O F • S C H O O L ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I got these First Day of School Task Cards from @miss5th and I think it’s a great activity to get to know more about my students! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Students go from card to card answering the questions on their recording sheet (I chose the colored version), and printed the B&W version of questions on stock paper with the coordinating color ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (also saved in my o r g a n i z e highlights)
