Reposting this today because I think we all need the reminder! . . Some days I wonder if I’m the only one that thinks it can be so hard. Although I know I’m not alone—it’s easy to get wrapped up in thinking that way. • There are days where I lose my patience, where I feel like I’m constantly repeating myself and frustrated because nothing seems to be “working.” There are moments where I’m not enjoying motherhood or I don’t feel like I’m doing a good job. Days where I feel like I’m doing the bare minimum or I question why it seems so easy for others. • Motherhood doesn’t come with a manual. It’s the only job where your actions and decisions truly impact the course of another human being’s life. I recognize that it’s important to take it seriously, but I also realize that it’s important not to allow the significance to subdue me. • In a world where we determine someone’s value based upon tiny squares of pictures, know that we all share similar struggles. Know that parenting is hard no matter who you are or where you’ve been. Your children don’t need a perfect parent. They need one that’s willing to try even when it seems impossible and a parent who will love no matter what!

As a new mom I totally struggled with this. After all I wanted to be “good” at this new role I was in and that meant doing things the “right way”, right?⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ It took me some time to realize that all we really needed to do was find the right way for us. Hi all! I thought I would make this Meet Me Monday (is that really a thing?) because, well, I never have directly before on Instagram.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am Jae, and I do a little bit of a bunch of things. First and foremost I am a sole parent to a now-three-year-old ❤️-exploding and opinionated kid named Juniper. Feminist-oriented Attachment Parenting is something I live everyday (feel free to ask me to elaborate). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What I do in my working life is primarily in-home early postpartum support for new families here in Toronto. I am also the founder and COO of @4trimesters. Backing this work is my Midwifery degree, and certificates (the year-long, full-time kind) in Infant Mental Health and in Holistic Nutrition. Other formal learning I've done is in babywearing education, shiatsu, reiki, and Non-Violent Communication. In my late 20's I wrote and published two vegan whole-foods cookbooks: *Get It Ripe* and *Ripe from around Here*.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A few other random things about me: hot yoga is my favourite way to move my body (thank you @modoyogabloorwest !), I love to make quilts (thank you @_theworkroom !), and if you're coming over for dinner, I'd rather you brought coconut milk ice cream than wine (especially if it's @coconutbliss or @screaminbros). I remember when my ex came home one day and I was just about 1 latch away from a total postpartum meltdown and just needed a minute to decompress and he goes “Why are you so tired?
