- - Think about it I know we like to look the part. How are you mentally tho? The thing is, you can’t look at the outer appearance first. I know we like to look nice and all but maybe your going about it all wrong. Think about your health first, the fact that you feel better is the real reward. How we SLAY on the outside is just the icing on the cake. You have to love yourself and take care of yourself no matter what size you are.

I’m really, really proud of the differences between these photos and it has NOTHING to do with my size!
On the left I had just finished dinner with friends, even though I had already eaten a meal right before we went as the result of a binge I couldn’t help. I was so upset and ashamed of how little control I had over my eating habits and it showed.
On the right, last weekend, I went to a concert with my boyfriend in Atlanta and we went to McDonalds afterwards. I ate nuggets and fries, and didn’t binge because I have finally*** gained that control over my eating. I eat pizza, bagels, hot cheetos - all of my old trigger foods - and have found the freedom to stop when I’m full.
@ww has equipped me with the tools to make good choices with my eating, and not go overboard while also staying FULL and HAPPY with the food I’m eating. Yay for nuggets!!!

Starting can be the hardest part, trust me, I know. A few years ago I found myself weighing over 500 pounds. Day 1 at the gym was HARD! It was not only physically challenging but mentally challenging as well. I felt embarrassed, angry, and wanted to quit 5 minutes in. I felt defeated.
But I never gave up. Here I am, now 350 pounds lighter but still the same girl, laying in the exact same spot at the gym, and now, more determined than ever to continue to be better, stronger, healthier and to continue living my life- a life I almost lost due to my weight many years ago. Sometimes we don’t want to try something because we are afraid to fail.
We doubt ourselves before we even try and think, it’s is better not to even try that way we do not fail. But what I say is, how will you ever know what you are capable of if you never try!
That same girl who was laying on that grass, out of breathe, defeated, all red in the face and ready to quit...what would have happened if she never stood back up and kept fighting?
That is something I never want to think about! If you keep trying, and if you keep standing back up, and trying your best, then you can never really fail. I was able to stand back up and keep fighting...and you know what? No matter what you are going through I know that you can stand back up and keep fighting too! -Follow @smoothiediet_ for more about weightloss tips - -
When I think about it, I’m sometimes ashamed that my daughter witnessed my self-loathing for so many years. I always preached self-confidence to her but I couldn’t muster up the empathy to embrace it myself because I knew what she didn’t… I was fat and fat was humiliating. When I look at this picture from our family trip in 2016 I know my sweet girl isn’t judging me or ashamed of me. She’s simply looking up to her mom… following my lead… learning how she should feel about her own body. If I could go back I would have seen myself through her eyes and realized that my weight was never the problem. It was my poor self-confidence and terrible self-esteem that was humiliating- not my body. I’m proud of the goals I’ve achieved and continue to work hard towards and I’m proud that my girls can witness my new healthy lifestyle. But I am even more proud that my daughters have a strong mom to look up to. Not because I weigh less, but because I know better. I know that my self-worth and self-confidence is in no way related to the size of my body or societies’ perception of it. And instead of telling them how to have self-confidence ... I can lead by example ♥️

I have to stop getting ahead of myself because I ate the broccoli with a pesto aioli sauce on top but I totally didn't take the photo with it on . I was too hungry and just started grubbing . Oh well. .

That face you make when you lost 4 lbs of baby weight.
JK this was just the photo I took to test the frame and decided to go with it because it’s ME. Unfiltered and dorky.
I did really lose 4 lbs though, it’s amazing what happens when you FOLLOW the plan, man.
When I say baby weight I’m referring to the extra 50 lbs my body put on to make and carry my baby girl. Every pound was worth it but I gotta work a liiittle bit harder then the average mama. Could be my age, my genetics or a metabolism thing since I screwed it up in the past doing dumb yo yo diets. 4 lbs is cool but I also know that I just FEEL better and I feel like this is the beginning of some cool transformations. I’m stoked for my June 3rd ladies to feel this good
Miso Soup with with Mushrooms

For all of you out there who have never had miso before, I highly suggest you buy some next time you are at the store. Miso is a mixture of soybeans and the mold koji that work together to ferment over a period of time to break down the beans into its fatty acids, sugars, and amino acids. It creates a paste that is unbelievable flavorful and produces a meaty, umami flavor that is practically a magic potion in cooking. You can add miso to a lot of dishes to deepen their flavor and give them a meatier flavor.
The easiest way to introduce yourself to cooking with miso is miso soup. You cannot mess it up. Literally all you do is boil some vegetable stock and water and then melt a little bit of miso paste into it. I like to thinly slice a couple of mushrooms to give me something to chew on and green onions for an added flavor.
It is the perfect food to eat when you’re in one of those “I’m not hungry but I want to eat” moods. A bowl of it is only 50 calories including the mushrooms and it’s good for you. It contains probiotics from the fermenting process
You could crack an egg into your boiling broth and turn it into egg drop soup for a more complete meal as well. I’ve said before that I don’t think eating when you’re bored has to be a bad thing. I do it all the time, especially when I’m in front of the TV. Mindless eating is fun and as long as you are being smart with your choices and keeping it within your daily targets, I don’t see a problem with it.
Today is one of the best days of the year for me as it is Week 1 of The Bachelor. I can’t watch without something to snack on and I can tell you that I’ll be having a bowl of this soup at some point tonight. This soup is perfect for mindless eating because it’s healthy, easy and quick to make, and it takes a while to eat
