A study by Bialosky et al, published in 2018 #JOSPT titled: “Unraveling the Mechanisms of Manual PT: Modeling an Approach” addresses a key point with most manual therapies: There is not a lot of evidence to support the effectiveness of any of these manual therapies!
Surprised?
This is NOT to say these therapies are ineffective, but more to say that the current studies available do not shine light on why many manual therapies DO actually make treatment outcomes more effective and ultimately help patients to feel better. “...However, the current lack of knowledge of the mechanisms through which manual therapy interventions inhibit pain limits such an approach. The nature of manual therapy interventions further confounds such an approach, as the related mechanisms are likely a complex interaction of factors related to the patient, the provider, and the environment in which the intervention occurs. Therefore, a model to guide both study design and the interpretation of findings is necessary.” In conclusion, more #research is needed, and for now, finding a practitioner who is well versed in many of these techniques and who is able to choose the best one for you, is your best option for receiving manual therapy interventions.

Тестирую новый интересный метод мобилизации тканей!
Мне очень понравилась эта идея, когда я с ней познакомился. Суть метода в том, что при фиксации поверхностных структур и выполнении в таком состоянии активных движениий, мжно улучшить скольжение тканей, расположенных глубже, в том числе нервов.
Таким образом методика может использована для профилактики или терапии, например, туннельного синдрома и пр.
☝️А еще подобные упражнения являются неплохой альтернативой упражнениям с отягощением, в случаях, когда с весом работать нельзя (например при травмах сухожилий). Резинка мешает мышце увеличиться в поперечном сечении при сокращении, тем самым создает нагрузку.
