Today marks one month since my knee surgery and that means only one thing - it’s time for a test flight

Little over 4 weeks (29 days to be precise) of recovery and I'm back to my happy place. Still feeling shaky like a gummy bear and super careful not to land on my left leg, but endlessly amazed with my body's ability to bounce back from this intervention so quickly. Not only that I can already walk and climb the stairs normally, but I can also squat, ride a bike and apparently acro without any pain in my knee. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still long way from where I want to be, but I never felt more motivated to expand my movement beyond anything thought possible. This experience thought me how to adapt in new ways and be super creative in balancing what I am being told I can/should/shouldn’t do vs what feels safe/accessible/good/challenging enough to me. And most importantly of all, it thought me that I’m one tough cookie.

This is a video compilation of our athlete who had ACL reconstruction.

In this phase of rehab we focus on the reactionary component of cutting and running.
Reactive drills are often overlooked in ACL rehab. We have to train our athletes to react to an external stimuli to simulate return to sport activities.
We use running as a component to react to simulate game like situations.
Here are some simple drills that we like to use with our athletes.
The athlete jumps into place and once he lands is forced to run towards where the coach points.

My first time on a trickline after 5 months of recovery with injured knee ligaments. Despite the fact that I'm super carefull, I'm truly glad I'm back. Those 5 months were a true lesson. But after all, not only I recovered, but also I managed to open a brand new training gym for our team @slacklinestrojirna. #proudandhappy

Set and rep descriptions are on each video.
Just FYI: If putting the body weight on a knee causes an issue due to the injury, then do the 3rd motion(hip extension) while standing!
You should consult your physician before trying these if you have the knee pain.
