Catharina Amalia Park, OKRA, #Apeldoorn, #Netherlands, 2013 . The Brink Park, unlike the name suggests, was no #park. It was evident it wasn’t seen as a park as even the city map of Apeldoorn did not indicate the space as a park; parked cars and buses dominated the space. The challenge was to transform the space into a park with facilities for different users whilst meeting the required parking; this was achieved by constructing an underground car park and park above. In July 2013, the Brink Park was renamed Catharina Amalia Park, after the Princess, and thereby doing justice to the new crown jewel of the city. Apeldoorn is not only a city park richer; making this critical link in the stream system present once again but also reinforces the connection with the original #landscape. For other cities, the combination of underground parking, park and #water is an example of how urban space can be transformed from negative to a meaningful place . . Il Brink Park, a differenza del nome suggerisce, non era un #parco. Era evidente che non era visto come un parco perché persino la mappa della città di Apeldoorn non indicava lo spazio come un parco; macchine parcheggiate e autobus dominavano lo spazio. La sfida consisteva nel trasformare lo spazio in un parco con strutture per diversi utenti andando incontro al parcheggio richiesto; questo è stato realizzato costruendo un parcheggio sotterraneo con il parco soprastante. So exciting to see our design come to life! The pilot phase for the 3D printed tree pots for the Food Innovation Strip Ede-Wageningen has started. The 2.6 m high pots were assembled at tree nursery @ebben_trees, where the effect of the pot on the growth conditions of the trees will be tested. After the test phase the pots will be placed in the public space, to become a linear arboretum with distinctive trees between Ede and Wageningen. In collaboration with 3D Robot Printing.
