This time a port cask whisky from a new distillery in #tasmania. @launcestondistillery just released their first sherry and port casks into the wild and I managed to grab this gem. This is bottle 318 of 590 and was made using all local barley. The team here includes the original founder of Nant so I’m interested to see if there is any of the Nant profile in these bottlings. Yesterday we visited a new brand to hit the market. Not 2 weeks ago the first bottlings of @launcestondistillery hit the market and we were very keen to visit and see something brand new! . Situated in Hanger 17 at Launceston Airport, the Launceston Distillery is a charming place to visit. . We were met by Angus the distillery dog and he took us through the vintage hanger (the oldest commercial aircraft hanger in Australia) seeing the distilling process and all the current maturing cask stocks on hand. . We were lucky enough to try some bottlings that are now nearly all gone already! Port cask, apera cask, bourbon cask. . It was great to see the passion and support this new little outfit are getting and we for sure will be getting some stock in a few weeks from @albawhisky. .
