♀️♂️FAIRY WASH♂️♀️
I caved... after our first foam soap activity a few days ago, she’s been asking me to do it again pretty much every day! So I finally caved!
It was supposed to turn out a nice teal color, but my natural food coloring failed me♀️ so greenish it is!
The water dispenser was again a total hit, and can you even handle the chubby little hands rinsing off the foam
Fairies are from the target dollar section!
Swipe for a short video of the foam texture! A lot of you have been saying that you tried foam soap before and it was a fail... try the recipe on my latest post! It won’t fail!!

❄️ARCTIC MELT❄️
Another genius way to reuse the water beads we use for sensory play is to freeze them when you’re done using them! I do this every time now and the kids enjoy the different textures and simply melting the block of beads! This time I added some @safariltd arctic animals to it for added fun!☃️
The setup is the frozen waterbeads, warm colored water, salt, and droppers!
They played at rescuing the animals, trying to rescue a water bead without crushing it, and then she started seasoning the ice block with salt “like papa does with the chicken” which I thought was hilarious!

FINE MOTOR PEGS || we extended our egg carton craft stick posting game from a while back with pegs today. The girls matched the coloured craft sticks to the board and then pegged small coloured pegs to their corresponding coloured craft sticks. This is a fun game that you can play over and over, and doesn't require any expensive resources to make. #CINTA_finemotor
Obsessed with these snack ideas! How cute are they and such a good way to get little ones to eat their veggies!

HEAVY WORK ACTIVITIES!
Heavy work is any type of activity that pushes or pulls against the body.
These activities can help kids with sensory processing issues feel centered.
Heavy work engages a sense called proprioception, or body awareness.
Occupational therapists commonly use heavy work to help kids who seek or avoid certain kinds of sensory input.
Here’s what you need to know about heavy work activities and how they can help.
Proprioception and Heavy Work
We typically think of people as having five senses: sight, smell, hearing, taste and touch. But there are two other senses that can affect motor skills. One is called the vestibular sense, and it controls balance and movement. The other is called the proprioceptive sense, and it controls body awareness.
A child’s sense of body awareness and balance comes from the way receptors in their muscles and joints send messages to their brain. They tell you where your body is in space, where each body part is and what it’s doing. It’s the way you know how much force to use to complete a task, like writing on paper or shutting a door.
This system doesn’t always work as effectively in kids with sensory processing issues. A child may write too lightly with their pencil or slam the car door really hard. They may think their pushing down hard enough with the pencil or that their using less force to shut the door than they actually are.
When kids struggle with this, proprioceptive input helps them know where their body is and what it should be doing. That input is also known as heavy work. See above for some activity examples!
ICE CREAM SENSORY TRAY This is one of the many ways we love to use our dyed rice! •••••••••••• Pom poms, scoopers, rice (plain white or dyed if you have time time ) and ice cream cones and/or bowls make for a fabulous summer sensory play setup! And who doesn’t love ice cream?! ☀️•••••••••••• TO DYE RICE for sensory play: 1.) Add 4 cups of white rice to a large food storage container 2.) Pour in two tablespoon of white vinegar 3.) Add 10-15 drops of regular food coloring or a small squirt of gel food coloring for more vibrant colors 4.) Make sure container is sealed completely and shake vigorously until color is evenly covering the rice 5.) Pour onto large baking sheet to dry for 2 hours 6.) Add to a tray or storage container to play! .

PLAYDOUGH & FLOWERS
.
After a wet few days we have an abundance of daisies and dandelions growing on the lawn so I gave Miss 3 a pair of scissors this morning and she loved practising her scissor skills on them!
.
We then brought the flowers inside and I got a few jars of play dough out and left her to it.
.
This was a simple, quick set up and I had no pre-conceived ideas about what she might do.
.
But Miss 3 had a lovely time pushing the flowers in & decorating the playdough. She then went and collected some of her kitchen pots and, as is often the case in our house, the play shifted to cooking role play!
.
So once the ‘cakes’ had been baked in the oven for long enough we all got to sample this tasty mid-morning snack .
