Recently I’ve learned a lot of lessons both from my experiences and those of others around me. Often times many of us find ourselves in a position of wanting to please others... Why? _ Probably simply because the result of someone else’s approvals, gain, or happiness due to us or our actions makes us feel good. We like ‘giving’ It’s one of our basic needs as humans to experience true joy _ Now, don’t think I’m saying this is a bad thing and you should turn your back on giving. It’s not and you shouldn’t Giving is important But you MUST know your boundaries To give to others at the expense of your self is not the key to living a great life. If you give others the opportunity to make decisions and you wait to take action based on their decision, you’re paralyzed If you give others the opportunity to judge your actions or you have a need for their approval you’re only stopping yourself from experiencing life and thus missing out on so many great moments and lessons!!! _ What I’ve found is that when you give to others in parallel to your purpose, when you respect yourself and boundaries in the process, it removes all need for approval, stress, anxiety and any other negative inhibiting emotion. It allows you take take action and move in your direction because you’re giving selflessly and without expectation. It allows you to be joyful because you don’t need to wait for them to tell you they approve. There’s a word to look up that describes this type of giving that will help you. It’s called altruism. Check that out when you can and practice that. Remember to give without expectations or need for approval and only in parallel with your own path. Not in replacement of it.

What negative situations, toxic people, bad behaviour, intolerance, disrespect and unhappiness are you allowing to continue in your life? - Most people tolerate things they shouldn’t for because they either fear confronting the bad behaviour or they fear the change that may occur in their lives when they do. - This is your ego playing tricks on you and telling you lies to keep you stuck. - It’s called ‘The Safe Problem’. - Your ego continually throws fears, doubts and anxieties at you to keep you stuck, to keep you playing small. It does this by taking something bad (tolerating and situations or behaviour) and presenting it as something good (by telling you that you’re safe enough here and the new situation or circumstances might be dangerous). - The problem is that almost no-one questions whether this is really true, whether this really does keep you safe. In fact all is does it keep you miserable, keep you stuck, sabotage your chances of success and happiness. And it doesn’t keep you safe at all. Let me give you an example. - Way, way, way too many people tolerate disrespect in their personal relationships. They tolerate the behaviour because they fear that if they confront it it will cause the end of the relationship. - But this is complete and total nonsense and it’s incredibly damaging and toxic thinking. - The more you tolerate disrespect the worse the disrespect will become. It categorically will not get better. - Soon enough the disrespect becomes contempt and study after study will show you that a relationship (in any meaningful sense) is dead once one partner feels contempt for the other. - So despite the lies your ego has told you, you haven’t stayed safe. You’ve actually brought about the very scenario you were trying to protect yourself from. - And in the process you’ve sabotaged your own self esteem. And you’ve wasted your time with someone disrespectful instead of giving yourself the opportunity to find someone who will treat you in the ways that you deserve. - None of that sounds like you’re being kept safe in any way AT ALL. - Today, spend a little time looking at what you are tolerating. And whether it’s really keeping you safe….
