When I was 14, there was a night where I sat on the floor of a children’s hospital outside my brothers room listening to the sound of him throwing up into a toilet. As I sat there, all I could hear were little kids crying and screaming. This mom was walking laps, pulling her bald little girl in a red wagon. It felt like the walls were closing in and the sadness and hurt was so real and so suffocating. I sat on the floor crying and feeling just so so broken. • A nurse knelt down and without saying a word she handed me a box of Kleenex and touched my shoulder. She knew there weren’t any words good enough and that she couldn’t fix anything, but that kindness was HUGE to me. And literally at that exact second I knew I was going to be a nurse when I grew up. • There aren’t really words to express how much I love being a nurse and how much I love the families I’ve been blessed to know. • I made a hard decision recently to hang up my stethoscope and be home with the kids 100%. It’s been a hard/scary decision for me, but also a freeing decision. Tumblers and Thumblers for the restock this Sunday! I had big plans for almost all of these guys to be new handle-less ROADIES, but alas, they don’t fit my lids. While it is a bummer and I wish they worked, there’s always a learning curve in ceramics. I can’t get upset at myself but I can choose to try again and get them right the next time!Those of you waiting on the perfect Roadie will have to wait a bit longer.
