I tried a refreshing Crémant D’Alsacean electric Riesling⚡️from Pfalz, Germany and a brooding South African Syrah-dominant blend . The staff are amazingly trained over Skypeby the actual winemakers that feature on their rotating wine flights - I love how they champion individual producers! Humble Grape also offer an extensive range of other wines by the glass and have a shopso you can purchase that delicious bottle of wine you enjoyed over dinner to sip at home . They serve a selection of wine-oriented dishes, from lighter bites, charcuterie and cheeseto larger dishes - the Comté and wild mushroom-stuffed chicken with truffled potato gratin is not to be missed! . Humble Grape is also located in Battersea, Liverpool Street and Islington with their hotly anticipated fifth location opening in Canary Wharf in July 2019 . Enjoying a SUPER TASTY bottle of @londoncru Sydney St Syrah at @originalpattymen yesterday with Samurai Chardonnay from @kilder_bar ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Do you know the story of @londoncru wines? If you’ve tried them let me know in the comments below ⬇️⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The grapes for Sydney St 2015 were grown in north-east Spain, near Zaragoza, and the wine made in London. The grapes are fermented with 30% whole bunches then aged in French oak barrels ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ We were all super impressed with the wine and I’m looking forward to trying more of the range ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The Roberson Winery is tucked away down a little alleyway in SW6, it is based in what was once a gin distillery. Whilst the surroundings are historic, innovation is right in the heart of London Cru. The premises houses precision temperature controlled tanks and state-of-the-art winemaking facilities ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ London Cru was the first urban winery opened in London in 2013. Since it’s launch, many of the London Cru wines have won awards and are listed in numerous Michelin star restaurants in London and beyond ⭐️ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ As part of it’s long-term vision, from 2017 all grapes have been exclusively sourced from English vineyards. Whilst I find this an interesting prospect, and it’s evident the aim is to promote our nation, I will miss wines such as this Syrah ⁣ ⁣ Also, if you haven’t tried @originalpattymen yet then get yourself down there. It’s Nebbiolo Sunday! What’s in your glass today? . I’m enjoying Pio Cesare’s entry Barbaresco, always good value and approachable young. . Traditionalist Piedmont producer, Pio Cesare, is one of the region’s most reliable and best value producers from their entry level Barbaresco, to single vineyard Barolo, the whole range offers value for money at a high quality. . This 2013 Barbaresco is produced from grapes from four vineyards, Il Bricco, San Stefanetto, Bongiovanni and Roche di Massalupo and is matured for 30 months in large oak Botti as well as a small % in French barrique and then given 1 year additional bottle age than the DOCG requirements. . Pio Cesare wines are generally well integrated on release and often favourably rated. This Barbaresco is available via The Wine Society for £47. . Mid Garnet . Aromatic with intense notes of cherries, raspberries, sandalwood, marzipan, cloves, strawberries and a hint of spice. The nose is fresh and ripe and utterly memorable! . On the palate the wine is still very tannin, with high acidity, high alcohol (14%) and medium + weight on the body. Lots of ripe red fruits on the palate as well as sweet wood the wine has a medium + finish.
