Getting SO SO close to baby! Got kicked a lot on the run but figure it’s a good sign! 3 verrrry easy miles today at and wasn’t afraid to walk when the baby attack was on! This is the farthest into any pregnancy I’ve run before....so feeling totally blessed and ready to bounce back quick and get those goals!

You CAN survive running in the heat
.

Double Digit baby! That’s a WIN for me!
Finally busted out a 10 Miler in what seems like months for me. My long runs have not been happening because of the feeling of a mixture of postpartum emotions, burn out, exhaustion, and my Achilles.
Today was different; no work so I slept in until 6:30 (I paid for it) & set out in the 90 degree weather to do something I have been longing to do.
IT WAS AN OVEN out there but thank goodness I did the following to prep for running in the heat:
•HYDRATION: pre, during, and post is essential as a runner.
•RUNNING GEAR: performance material is key and HAT. Avoid cotton fabrics.
•SUNSCREEN: please apply at least 10 mins before heading out. Even in the earlier hours; if you can see outside then the sun rays are out!
•SUNGLASSES: I will never leave without them because I avoid squinting (I often found myself getting headaches later on). The pairs I usually wear are only $25; so you don’t need to break the bank.
•TIME OF DAY: In a nutshell avoid the later morning or mid day afternoon (10am - 4pm is a NO-Go). Today was miserable as I was drenched (zoom in to see sweat).
•PACING: Running in the heat in general takes a toll on your body & you exert more energy. Just run by feel as no one is winning any medals for going fast!
“Good job mama” ❤️ Nothing encourages me more than hearing those words come out of my 2 year old daughter’s mouth.
High ✋ for 7 family stroller miles + 5x20 sec. strides Ended up being 8 miles total. I pushed the first 3.5 miles and was very thankful Trev pushed the last.
Fun fact- my husband and I met at a running store in 2012 and we’ve been running together ever since ❤️
.
We normally train together, but this year we are doing different marathons which means our training is completely different aka getting our different workouts and runs in is kind of tricky. Love that he got to join us this morning.
Normally he wakes up at 4am every day during the week to run and then as soon as he gets back I do mine and finish before he has to leave for work. When he travels I do a lot of stroller runs and on the weekends we have a sitter come over to watch Abby early in the mornings so we can both do our long runs on a 3.5 mile loop along the river- sometimes our miles are together and sometimes not.
It’s not always ideal or easy but breaking 3 hours is something that’s equally important to both of us so we find a way to make it work. How do you squeeze your runs in?
Happy Friday!!
Today was our last spot on the cruise in Portofino, Italy! It was absolutely beautiful. It has been so much fun being with my husband and family on this cruise. Thanks to my wonderful parents who treated us to the most memorable vacation. ♥️ And if you are looking for a dream vacation spot in Europe look up Portofino, Italy!!! Anyone else been?
Did somebody say Muffins with Mommy
.
.
.
What’s your favorite kind of muffinThere is nothing better than starting out the week with freshly baked muffins along with the cutest little helper! I mean seriously tho.
.
.
My toddler just loves to assist in the kitchen especially when it comes to baking where he can add all the ingredients individually with my help.
The only problem was that I was tired of him climbing and sitting on top of our counters...... so I finally came across the @the_kitchenhelper and I can definitely say that it’s a must have item in every household especially if you have children. There are so many uses for it for him. I also love to use it too for reaching cookware on my higher shelved cabinets. .
.
Who would have thought a toddler would have so much interest in cooking/baking. I just love the way he watches me where I can teach him a fun sensory experience! After all, there’s ”Muffin” like a great HELPER
ALTERNATIVTRAINING RAD
Starting a new relationship
