Last week I let my bosses know that I'm leaving law practice behind later this year and going all in with myself, my family, and my business. They were disappointed (the word "devastated" was used) but also incredibly supportive. And I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with them. . But now that they know, I'm finally free to talk openly about the transition in real time as things are happening, which is far more fun than recapping all of the excitement after the fact. . I'm not going to lie, leaving behind this career that's been 17 years and $200K in student loans in the making is scary. But I've come to recognize that when you are challenging yourself to grow into the person you want to be, when you are taking yourself to those uncomfortable places, there will always be some amount of fear. The key is learning how to embrace those fears and allow yourself to take big action in spite of them. .
