What does a Patella (Knee cap) dislocation look like? When a traumatic/athletic injury happens the ligament that holds the knee cap in place (MPFL) can rupture allowing the kneecap to dislocate. In this video you can see that the knee cap is unstable and we are able to push the knee cap out of its groove. This can cause further damage of the cartilage seen at the bottom of the knee cap (cracking). In surgery we can reconstruct the MPFL ligament using a cadaver tissue and stabilize the knee again so it no longer dislocates! #Patella #MPFL #MPFLreconstruction @ someone who would like this video. Tomorrow I’m getting knee surgery (Tibial Tubercle Transfer and MPFL Reconstruction) because my knee keeps dislocating and subluxating thanks to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. This is a part of my journey. I'm really sorry that i haven't been able to reply or cater to many orders, questions and enquiries bcz I underwent a surgery on my right knee and managing that takes up most of my time. For all those asking, I got an MPFL Reconstruction Surgery on my Right knee. I have a condition in both my knees that require this surgery but my right knee needed it urgently. It's been a week since surgery day and things have got so much better since Day 1. As of now I do not know exactly when I'll be able to resume work, but I'm sure it's not too long. Tomorrow is my dressing change appointment and I cannot wait to get this weight off my leg. This post is for all those who missed my stories and don't know why I'm missing or why my studio is shut and I'm unavailable on Zomato, swiggy and uber eats. A big thank you to all those who took the time to wish me luck, meet me and especially those who have been taking care of my every need.
