So, two things about this photo. . #1 Kya has always been an old soul. She’s 12 but acts more like 30. Not much has changed since she came to us at 17 months old. Same mature & kind hearted girl. What HAS changed is the fact that she LOOKS so grown! What is even going on here?! Game changer. We are sooo entering a new level of parenting that I’ve been afraid of...THE TEEN YEARS. . #2 Our home was built right after WW2. Those concrete steps were probably built around the same time. I love the nostalgia of it and all, but I’m ready for a real entry way/porch! Some shutters would be cute too. So, get ready for the next update to our home. Coming soon.

We had a lot going on this weekend, so we decided to drop the kids off at gigi and poppop’s house for a few days of fun, and boy did we need it! We worked hard, we played hard, and we got to catch up on sleep, lots and lots of sleep. It was glorious! I often feel guilty leaving the boys even if it’s only for a few hours, but as I’ve gotten deeper into this whole parenting thing, I realize how silly that is. As much as I miss them when we aren’t together, getting some quality time either with your partner, your squad, or even just with yourself is SO CRUCIAL for your mental health. And it makes seeing them, all the kisses and snuggles and nuzzles THAT much more special. So PSA: people, PLEASE STOP MOM SHAMING WOMEN FOR HAVING A LIFE OUTSIDE OF THEIR KIDS. It’s okay to have a hobby or two or ten! Don’t feel guilty for taking a time out to just focus you YOU.

Not so fun fact, I almost married the wrong guy. One month later, I met Andrew. He was everything I deep down wanted but didn’t know existed because I was told that what I wanted didn’t exist. . Andrew entered my life and made me feel so wanted. I played hard to get for a bit but I couldn’t ignore the fact that a life with him would be so good. In fact, before we even started dating I told my mom that Andrew would give me a good life. . And boy has he. He didn’t just get the girl and then change. He still makes me feel wanted and cherished. He wants to spend time with me and always makes sure I have everything I need. . Our time together has not always been smooth sailing. But every struggle has made us better as individuals and as a couple. . And one of my fav things is how good Andrew looks holding his babies . For those of you who haven’t found your man yet, don’t settle for so-so and don’t put up with crap.
