We didn’t get Alex home for the last bank holiday, so this one is an extra happy one Why can’t 3 day weekends just be the new norm? Scout, my daughter. I love you so much. I would be mildly inconvenienced to stop you having to ever be mildly inconvenienced, my darling. Peak: we've come up into the wilds of Northumberland for the bank holiday weekend...planning on wrapping the babies up warm and strapping them into baby carriers for wild walks. Pit: small problem. Tiny. It was only getting ready for the first walk we realised we'd forgotten two elements: anything to wrap them up in and anything to strap them into. We forgot the LOT. Here's Scout enjoying the sea air in her sleeping bag cos it's the warmest thing packed. today I pulled into a parking spot and I just sat for a minute. I watched as students my age walked in and out of the building carrying book bags and books- knowing I was about to walk in carrying a diaper bag on my back and a baby on my hip. . . . . it’s scary to feel different, to feel behind, and to feel like you have things working against you instead of for you. but as of today I’m officially registered for my classes at southwestern illinois college! I’m also glad that my mini was there by my side. small victories ✨

Normally I have to persuade siblings to hug or kiss mama’s belly by saying things like “go listen and see if you can hear little baby bubble farts” or some other horrible awful lie . But not this guy. He LOVED snuggling up to his mama’s belly the whole night and if you could have witnessed his affection in person I’m quite certain you would have been melted into a puddle right there beside me.
