Helichrysum is one of those oils that I never thought I’d use as much as I do, and I can’t imagine not having this especially with kids... especially with a 4 year old boy. . Helichrysum is a must have for your first aid kit. It stops bleeding and helps support tissue growth when there is damage and injury. It’s amazing for twisted and sprained ankles, and helped me recover more quickly than the doctor had estimated. . Geranium is also amazing, and works quickly to help wounds recover. It supports skin health, balances hormones, and promotes healthy filtering organs. It’s also a great oil to keep in your first aid kit, especially if helichrysum is outside of your budget. I call these my “liquid bandaid” oils because they really work so well for this! To use, just put a drop or two in a 2oz spray bottle with distilled water and a tsp of FCO, and spray on location as needed. Have you tried these oils? When I first learned this statistic, I found it quite shocking. We spend 90% of our time inside so you want to be breathing in clean air. You can do things like use low and zero VOC paint, buy mattresses and furniture with little to no off-gassing, etc. But the quickest and easiest changes to make are simple and inexpensive. 1) Ditch your toxic cleaners and make your own using things like water, vinegar, baking soda, essential oils or keep it really simple and use OnGuard Cleaner Concentrate. 2)Get rid of candles and air fresheners and start diffusing essential oils instead. Not only do they smell great, but they can help support your mood, immune system and can help clean the air. 3)Get yourself some houseplants that help to filter your air naturally. Snake plants and Peace Lillie’s are two great ones but there are others as well. Remember, not all oils are created equal so just buying oils at a store can be just as bad as those toxic air fresheners, etc. You want to make sure you are using pure essential oils (just because they say they are pure means nothing). This morning I woke up at 5am to a tornado warning. This means a potential tornado is in the vicinity. After getting dressed, getting our safe space ready to run to if necessary, I glued my eyes to the radar and the news, while listening to the crazy wind and rain outside. The storm passed, we didn’t get hit. But quite a few homes in the town where I live were damaged serenely by the storm. This was a huge wake up call to me, that if disaster struck my home, I wouldn’t have been ready. This week I’m going to be assembling an emergency preparedness kit. Not just for me, but also for friends and family in town, to deliver if needed. In this kit I’m including • Bath Bar • Toothpaste sample • Shampoo/Conditioner samples • Deep Blue samples • On Guard Beadlets • Correct X • Peace roller • Melaleuca Roller • Lavender Roller • On Guard Sanitizing Spray • Breathe Roller Along with these, I’m adding gauze, first aid tape, ace bandages, bottled water, a flashlight, gloves, and a few other first aid necessities. I would rather have this ready to go and never need it than not have it and find myself in a situation where I need these wellness resources. How prepared are you for an emergency situation? Have you ever used an apple cider vinegar rinse for your hair? • A year ago I travelled to Europe and decided to only bring a carry-on. In order to cut down on my liquids, I bought a shampoo bar. And it was pretty much the worst thing ever. I would finish washing my hair and feel like it was just as greasy as before. Basically pointless. • So when I started to reduce my waste, I was pretty sure it would take many tries to find a shampoo bar I liked. I ran out of my conventional shampoo, bought my first bar... and LOVED it. I tried a different one. And also LOVED it. I figured I had just been lucky and had randomly selected great bars that worked for me! • Fast forward a few months and one day I washed my hair and it felt greasy. I figured I had put in too much of my hair oil, nbd. So the next time I washed my hair I barely used any hair oil at all... and same thing, greasy hair. • I finally realized it wasn’t the shampoo bars or my hair oil. I had stopped using my apple cider vinegar rinse! I began using it the same time I switched to a shampoo bar because I was noticing some dry scalp. I hadn’t noticed it recently though so I figured I would simplify and stopped making my hair rinse. Huge mistake. Apparently apple cider vinegar was the key to the best hair I have ever had, who knew?! • So basically the takeaway is this: if you are transitioning to a shampoo bar, use this stuff. And even if you’re not, use this stuff anyway! It is amazing at cleansing your hair, can help keep your scalp and hair healthy, leave it shiny, and even help with growth. (I am now wondering if this is why my hair has been growing so quickly...) • Here’s how I make mine: + 2-4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar. + 2 cups water + 1 drop each lavender and tea tree essential oils (optional, but these oils are also wonderful for scalp health) Shake before each use. Pour over roots and let the rinse run down your hair. Let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse it out. I used to store the rinse in a squeeze bottle, but when I decided to stop making it I started using that bottle for another DIY. Soooo I put the rinse in this pump bottle I had instead and it is actually working great!

Plus I found this super cute Mason jar at @michaelsstores to use and just used a martini shaker top for accurate sprinkleage (yes I just made that word up). . ↠2 cups Baking soda ↠20-30 drops of your favorite essential oil {I used Wild Orange} ↠Shake well and sprinkle onto carpet ↠Let sit for 30 minutes ↠Vacuum up and enjoy the cleaning benefits and the refreshing scent (not fragrance chemical laden dodgy crap) throughout your home!
