I usually like most variety of wines as long as they are not too spicy or smoky. However, I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed this Cabernet Franc which had a noticeable flavor of bell peppers! Yes, you heard it right - Cab Franc often has a bell-pepper like flavor with high acidity. Who would have thunk that I liked it. But I did. I got a chance to taste this particular #wine on my trip to #Oregon. This was a #Yakima valley 2012 Vintino Cabernet Franc blend with some amazing bold notes of cherry and chocolate as well. Absolutely loved it! Well lesson learnt! Next time - don’t say no to ANY wine. Drank alllll the Pinots In Willamette Valley this past weekend and I think Oregon in the summertime might be one of my new favorite destinations ... it was GORGEOUS! For those of you that missed our wine tasting weekend, I’ve saved everything on my Oregon highlight. . . On our drive down to @the_vintages we stopped at a handful of wineries, but my absolute favorite was @parrettmountaincellars! Not only were their wines tasty, but the views and scenery were incredible then on Saturday we hopped aboard the @nwwineshuttle which is a MUST if you want to go wine tasting in Willamette. It’s $50 a person and they pick up at 5 locations— Portland, McMinnville, Dundee, Newberg, and @the_vintages. Once aboard you can hop on and hop off at 11 different wineries and vineyards!
