Transfer complete! Sweet little morula thawed beautifully and FET went perfectly. Headed back to our hotel for a much needed nap. Didn’t get in till 2 AM thanks to delays and long drive and on top of that, today was just emotional as hell. Today we had our second beta test! Since it’s a Sunday, it wasn’t as busy and we were able to get our results before we got home. What a beautiful blessing to have received on Father’s Day! I am so cautiously excited. I’m hoping that we get to bring home our rainbow baby(ies?) next February! We have a baby! And a heartbeat! Ultrasounds give me so much anxiety because we tend to get bad news with them. After a transfer, you typically say you’re “PUPO: pregnant until proven otherwise” but this time, Michael and I are saying “PASP: pregnant and staying pregnant!” . The transfer went perfect & the embryologist kept raving about the embryo! Baby is already hatching and ready to stick with me til November! Dustin and I are thrilled to announce we are pregnant with our rainbow baby, lovingly referred to as Little. Emilia was like lightning: powerful, fleeting and left a huge impression on the world. The grief that followed was the stormy season we’ve had to navigate in her absence. Rainbow babies are those born after the loss of a child; a renewed and exhilarating sense of Joy! Pregnancy after neonatal loss is an unique experience that has come with a lot of ups and downs. But through it all, I am so in love with this little one already. I feel so connected to both Emilia and Little. I found these shells when we were in St Croix last September celebrating Emmy’s 1st birthday and our 4th wedding anniversary. I immediately thought I really hope I can use these for a future pregnancy announcement . I love the littlest one that represents Emilia. During that trip I prayed for 2019 to be a great year and to bring us our . We went down to the beach at Emmy’s exact time and day of birth (3:04am on 9/17). Dustin and I saw 8 shooting stars and the most spectacular lower case “e” cloud within the following hour and a half. Miraculous is the only way to describe the moment. My modified due date falls exactly at Emilia’s 2nd birthday which I can only explain as divine intervention as well.
