It’s been a while since I posted a pic from ‘our swings’ ... the truth is that one day we went on our swing walk only to find that both swings had broken ... having limited swing making skills ourselves (we tried and failed to fix them), we’ve been waiting until some clever person came along ... pleased to say that one of the swings is now back in action ...

First day of school for three of four, which means she’s home on her own with me for the first time ever. It’s not even 10am and she’s requested dancing music, had second breakfast, done some preschool workbooks, made five drawings, terrorized the dogs, precisely instructed me on how to properly cut her kiwi fruit, snuggled the dogs, and wandered around aimless and a bit lonely. And now she’s bored out of her gourd. Meanwhile, I’m contemplating going back to bed to recover from summer vacation. August 6th 2019 #dailyarie

It’s boiling, I’m an English rose and literally don’t know what to do with myself ... what I really want to do is jump in a cold lake and stay there, neck deep bobbing around ... but the most significant body of water I have nearby is our bathtub, so instead I’m reminiscing about the lake we camped by last summer ... #all3collinskidsinoneframe #lakelife

It’s almost his birthday, and I do this every year. Relive every second of the day leading up to his birth, the day of, the week after, etc. Someday the memories will fade, I think. But seven years now, and they’re still pretty fresh. Look at how tiny he was. And, he was 2 weeks old here. Someday, I’ll celebrate just his birth. His miracle. God’s gift to us. And I won’t relive the trauma, fear, and doubts. I felt fine seven years ago today. Great, honestly. Had a great day at work, though longer than expected. Had a fun dinner with great friends @s.grogie and Shawn. Steak and mashed potatoes on the oceanfront. 25 weeks on the dot, feeling good, feeling strong....I had an appointment just a couple of days before and had bought new clothes that week because the bump was finally really there. 25 weeks....My plan is to share more of his story throughout tomorrow...because oversharing on insta is my therapy .

Sometimes, life feels like all the answers are behind door # 1. Goodness, my girls have made things interesting these past few days. There’s been some pretty big mistakes on their parts, but also some wonderful.
